How to Work With a ORBITAL Polisher - Rate of Movement

Hey boys and girls, one of the things that I see novices do when they first try to learn how to use a orbital polisher is that they MOVE IT TOO FAST. So I decided to make a video where I translate the rate that you should move a ORBITAL polisher, no matter which ORBITAL polisher you are working with.

Now the first thing that you must understand is, exactly what is a ORBITAL polisher. There are 3-types of polishers used in the detailing industry:

1. A rotary polisher (the fastest, MOST DANGEROUS polisher in the hands of a novice). It can remove paint and clear coat off your car in a heartbeat.

2. A dual-action polisher: This is the intermediate polisher. It combines what a rotary polisher will do, alongside some of the safety features of what the ORBITAL polisher has.

3. A ORBITAL polisher: This polisher is a novices best friend. It's inexpensive and so safe, a child can use it. It takes longer to do anything that the other two polishers will do, but IT IS SAFE. Be sure to watch the video and read what I have wrote IN THIS THREAD for a better understanding of what a ORBITAL polisher is, so that you will fully understand the difference.

This is the only polisher that I make videos and show people how to use, because you can't learn how to SAFELY use any other type of polisher by watching YouTube videos. The other polishers need to be taught IN PERSON, so that the instructor can IMMEDIATELY stop you when you are about to burn the paint right off your car.

At car shows, I always grab a kid out of the crowd and let them buff on either my car, or a show car that belongs to the kid's parent. If the parent doesn't know who I am or know anything about a orbital polisher,, this is a cringe moment because they start sweating bullets. Once they see what happens, the kid is BIG TIME hooked. It can also create a bonding moment between the kid and the parent, because from that point forward, the kid wants to help their parent detail their car when they get back home. Talk about a beautiful thing, this is a guarantee way to get your child ready to own the car you love, if they decide to keep it once you croak. Hey, it's gonna happen, it's just a matter of time.

Here's a short video of me doing just that, at the Hot August Nights car show in Reno, Nevada.

I even show the little girls how to do this. This particular little girl kept coming by my booth because once I showed her how to do it, she wanted to buff on every car I worked on.

So in this video, I will show you the rate at which you should be moving your polisher when using a ORBITAL polisher. If you use any other type of polisher this way, get ready to visit a paint booth because you are going to end up destroying your paint in some manner.

Here's the link to the music that I used in this video: https://mega.nz/file/8VwzDYKA#rW9Qbw...qW2VM6z_SmRn1Q

A detailer who does this for a living will have all three, because they all have different characteristics that you want at your fingertips in order to PROPERLY address the many types of paint damage. A good detailer will have the flexibility of all 3 polishers instead of breaking out the massive BFG when that is not necessary. This video concentrates on JUST THE ORBITAL polisher. That is the only polisher I teach online because people will still use it wrong.
