X1 M35 vs X2 M35 drive feel

My local UK dealer only has an X2 M35 demonstrator vehicle, what are the thoughts vs the X1 M35, i.e. engine response, lag, adaptive suspension feel/comfort, general driving?

It's a bit annoying not to driver the actual type of car, but they say they can't source an X1 M35 demonstrator !

They’re basically the same. I was initially looking at an X1 M35i in the US but the dealer said they were basically the same so he had me test drive their 2024 X2 M35i back in November and a 2025 X1
28i. That led me to actually deciding to order the X2 M35i instead (the X2 hadn’t really been on my radar at all because they are quite uncommon here).

Since then I have had the chance to test drive a 2025 X1 M35i, and yeah, they basically feel the same. The X2 is just a little bit longer, but they are mechanically the same. I kinda feel like the X2 sits a little bit lower but it might not be. It could just be how I had the seat adjusted.

You’re welcome!

I just wanted to come back and add one more thing - I think the difference I was feeling in height was probably the difference between the 28i vs the M35i because I was in them back to back. The cars with the M performance suspension sit ~15mm lower than the cars without it IIRC. It wasn’t an X1 vs X2 thing, but I still wouldn’t be surprised if the seat was also in a different position when I got in both cars.
