what is with some auto makers these days that think people like ugly cars???

Lexus has officially jumped the shark with this one....Honda, Acura, BMW and others did years ago....

Liked twice in principle because the car is hard to look at and for the use of "jumped the shark".

It is better than the previous version but the scale is logarithmic, so....

Auto manufacturers have to find a way to keep designs fresh, and different. It's no surprise that they choose to get quirky on the top selling models, people are going to buy them anyway, so it's the safest way to explore ideas.

Yeah, people aren’t buying those for looks or performance, they’re getting them for bulletproof reliability and crazy resale value. Used ES models, especially hybrids, hold their value better than 95% of BMWs, crazy...

Never been a fan of the look of any Lexus, but having now owned the ES for a while it's kinda growing on me. However I think it's very option dependant.

The interiors never been a fan of, still not a fan, but very functional and materials are all mostly nice.

This new one... meh. Not loving it. Don't hate it as much as the current 5 and 7 series. Would have to see it in person. However I think it's too sporty looking for what is actually a nice land yacht.

If it wasnt for the weird creases in the hood I think the front would be kind of cool. Kinda 350zesque.

The side profile is kind of the same thing - if they didnt blatantly rip off the coke bottle dodge charger doors and slap those on it would be okay.

The dumpy butt isn't really workable.

I was thinking these exact brands. I feel like the wedge or coke bottle design just looks so much better and more athletic.

I actually like the Lexus GX but it does have a certain BMW XM vibe going on. It looks better in person I guess.
