Car accident > Wanting BMW Performance Upgrades
Hey guys, I was in a little fender bender a few days ago. Is it common to request performance parts be put in instead of original and pay the difference? Or does insurance only allow original parts be used? First time going through this ordeal.
I'm thinking performance front bumper, side skirt, and steering wheel. I'll just tell my wife they must have put the wrong parts back in.

depends on the insurance. some insurances just cut you a check for how much they value it at to repair, while others require you to go to their shops.
in my accident in my other car, i drove to a claim center with allstate, they took pictures, gave an estimate and cut me a check for what they thought it would cost to fix at any shop. the shop i brought it to took the check and basically priced it out to fit that...using the same parts. I am sure if i asked for anything else it would have simply been the difference. |
