2012 M5 News: Blue Brakes Standard. Germany Pricing at 102,700 EUR
BIMMERPOST NEWS 2012 M5 News: Blue Brakes Standard. Germany Pricing at 102,700 EUR BMW has released the German price list for the new M5 earlier today. The new 2012 BMW M5 will be priced at EUR 102,700 in Germany. For comparison, the last price for the E60 M5 (Sep 2010) was EUR 94,700 which means a price increase of roughly 8.5%. Earlier this week, BMW announced the price for the UK at £73,040 for UK buyers. The last UK price for the E60 M5 was £67,300 which also tranlsates to a price increase of 8.5%. Applying the same increase of 8.5% to the last US price (2010 M5) of $85,700, the new BMW M5 would be priced at $93,000 for the US. (* It's important to note however that the U.S. market doesn't just follow other markets and has its own pricing. We calculated the US price just for theoretic purposes.) The German price list also gives away some more details. To answer a common question -- the M5's metallic blue brake calipers are standard equipment. In other word, you'll always get the blue brake calipers, regardless of which exterior color you choose. All performance features, such as the Active M Differential, are standard. There's no word on a manual transmission as it won't be available in Germany. 19" M wheels (style 345M) will be standard, optional 20" wheels (style 343M) are priced at EUR 2,750. The standard 19" wheels are ferric grey while the 20" wheels are forged. Frozen Gray, Frozen Silver are EUR 3,600 options, Brilliant White is EUR 3,300 and other Individual colors (see full list here) are available at EUR 2,300. Stay tuned for a lot more F10 M5 photos and information from the first public unveiling of the new M5 during the M Festival's "M Night" this Thursday. |

I hope it's priced a little lower than $93k for the US (for my sake)... And the blue brakes just solidify the fact that Monte Carlo Blue is the best color for this car!

Does anyone know when US dealers will start taking deposits for this car? Blue is standard, but does this mean other colors won't be available? Any word on frozen black for US market?

Although the ceramic brake option (to come later) may be different colored.

That is just horrible (blue brakes), I mean on black/white/blue it will look okay but thats it. not sure about bright blue on the darker blue exterior either. these should be painted the same as your car. Or are they trying to go with their own look (like how Porsche was going red...).
Price is a huge mistake if its $93K for the US, only $2,000 less than the 2012 CLS63, are they kidding! I love BMW and love the M5 but if I am going to drop that cash, give me a CLS63 please! and I bet Mercedes will match the M5 in price after dealer discounts. so if a 6 series Gran Coupe comes out, it will easily be over $100K and be priced well above the CLS63 which should be its main competition. |

Don't be surprised if this is the case. Also wouldn't be surprised if the ceramic brakes get its own signature color (like Porsche's yellow ceramic calipers).

i rather pay $93,000 to get a more optioned car than a $85,700 base car (E60). not saying the $93,000 will come loaded but my point is it's too early to tell anyway. pointless at this point.

Hmm.
Obviously this is just speculation. Didn't the standard F10 come in a bit lower than the E60 when it was official?

I don't like how they force feed us the blue calipers. Nothing sporty IMHO, ricy as fuk.

I may be wrong, but hasent a loaded M5/M6 in the past been around the 100-120k range... If this is 93k its a bargain!!! Now since this is base price, I think, then loaded it would be in the 110+ range...
Also Im sorry, but the Blue breaks are just really stupid... Not sure why the would go and do that. Such a turn off on any other color outside of MCB... D |
