How many drinks will you have before you decide you shouldnt drive? I work in Vegas so every other driver out here is likely intoxicated and it shows, especially at night. Just curious...

Oh boy..this is gonna be a sensitive thread I can tell..I always have a few pops if I am going out...I just make sure to cut myself off a good hour before..if Im too drunk I cab it.

According to my last Defensive Driving course

.....BAC depends on your body weight but a general rule of thumb is 3 drinks in one hour and you over the limit.

Another rule of thumb is your body can get rid of 1 drink per hour. So do the math.

i handle a lot of dwi cases,and will say from painful experience for some clients,it doesn't take much to blow .08,the legal limit,on a breathalyzer.3-4 drinks can easily do it.the person's weight and whether they ate are factors,too.if you want to be really safe,no more then two drinks.

i don't think the tests are always accurate,and read higher than they should,but if you blow the limit you'll be arrested,and it's up to you to try and get out of it.nc for example has what we call a per se law-they don't have to prove you're impaired,just that you blew .08 or above.we of course have defenses and ways we can fight it,but they're tough cases.

the .01 per hour of alcohol you lose isn't sped up by drinking coffee,jogging,or bungee jumping.

You can't ask how many. Different people have different tolerances depending on many factors.

Arguably once you pass the "legal limit" it's too many. In my case I will simply say I know when I've had enough and I know when it's time to call a cab.

unless you find me on facebook and i have to explain photos from college. then the answer would be "i never drove because i was always expecting spontaneous acts of partying to break out because i went to ASU".

For me 1-2 shots of jack daniels and Im feeling great but I can still drive. Anything after that Im toast. However if I know we are going out and drinking then 90% of the time have someone come to my house and pick me up and just pay their gas because Id rather just pass out in their car rather than drive drunk and wreck my car or hit someone elses.
