How's the M235i leasing now?

I have less than a year left on my X3 lease...

Lots of different vehicles under consideration - including M 235i (with x drive)

Curious as to the lease rates and payments going out the door on these early-on in it's life cycle?

Could you share specifics? Appreciate it!

Here's my numbers for 10k miles/year and 36 months (63% resi). It's a 2014 so I got the $1000 options credit on top of 4% and another $500 off due to a corporate price deal. Original MF was 0.0017 but the corporate deal brought it down to 0.0015 and I wasn't able to get it down to the 0.0013 that many could.

You did very well on the price but you got hosed on the MF.
The 0.00130 is the base BMW, anything over that is dealer theft / markup (that's the only way to describe it)

BMW dealers in the Seattle area are very tough to negotiate with because there are just too many rich ppl who will simply pay whatever the dealer's asking. I went with BMW Portland and I'm very happy with my deal.

The Portland BMW dealer has the same owners as BMW Seattle. I think they are up to eight BMW dealerships (Lithia Motors).

I got a great deal (just a smidge above invoice on an ordered car for a brand-new model year) from David Padgalskis at BMW of Portland, negotiated and settled entirely through email. I'd highly recommend contacting him, absolutely worth a three hour drive to go pick the car up.

Having the same owner doesn't necessarily make them exactly the same. I think being based in different cities and serving different demographics make a difference in their willingness to give discounts. Anyway, the impression I got from all three BMW dealers in the Seattle area was that they were not willing to negotiate. It felt like take it or leave it kind of deal.

I just picked up an M235i in Vista, CA a couple days ago and got a sales price of $46,860 on MSRP of $50,850. Residual was 65% with 10k miles/year. I did the maximum of 7 MSDs to lower the money factor and my payment is $518 + tax.
(Didn't qualify for the Tier 1 0.0013 money factor, got the next one up which was 0.0017 minus the MSD discount final money factor was 0.00121).

Love the car!

Nice. Didn't know they were pushing the residual up to 65%... that is on a 33 month lease, but this is for a 2014, correct? The 2015s will not have as good a deal since they want to push out 2014 models leftover. Build out cash and a higher residual is a huge win.

Are you in the US? I don't think BMW makes a 2-series (M235i or 228i) with xDrive for the US market.

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...ll-wheel-drive

BMW’s 2-Series coupe was all-new for 2014 but there’s already some updates headed our way for the 2015 model year. After confirming it for the European market, BMW has now announced that U.S. customers will be able to opt for xDrive all-wheel drive on the 2015 2-Series. The xDrive option will be available on both the entry-level 228i as well as the sporty M235i and cost $1,800.

Adding xDrive won’t affect the cars’ power ratings, which means the 228i xDrive will still come with a 240-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four and the M235i xDrive with a 322-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo six. However, acceleration, at least in the M235i xDrive, is a little quicker than in rear-wheel-drive models thanks to the added traction of the all-wheel-drive system. BMW says the M235i xDrive equipped with an eight-speed automatic will sprint to 62 mph from rest in just 4.6 seconds, which is 0.2 of a second quicker than the rear-wheel-drive model.

Also available on the 2-Series for the 2015 model year is a Track Handling Package. Designed for the 228i models, the Track Handling Package drops the suspension by 10 millimeters and adds upgrades such as Adaptive M Suspension, Variable Sport Steering, M Sport Brakes, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and 18-inch wheels. The Track Handling Package has a cost of $2,200 for models without the M Sport or Sport Line packages and $1,600 if those options are already ticked.

Prices for the 2-Series range remains unchanged for the 2015 model year, though BMW’s standard destination charge rises by $25 to $950. So, with destination included, the 2015 228i starts at $33,050 and the 2015 M235i starts at $44,050.

However, before you rush out to order a new 2-Series, note that BMW will be launching a new 2-Series Convertible in the coming year and a high-performance M2 is also due in the next year or two.

So mine will be 0.2 sec's quicker than all your RWD's + I'll put some snows on it for great winter traction too

Man, that is great news. I'm convinced the 2-series will make a great AWD car, and we love xDrive on our X3.

As far as leasing goes, the 2-series has been great. Residuals are 60%-63% (depending on mileage and configuration) and money factor is 0.0013. Keep in mind that BMW publishes separate residuals for xDrive cars, so you'll need to look for that.

IMO, a residual above 60% is the threshold I try to cross when leasing. The only problem with leasing the M235i right now is that allocations are still running kind of thin. Dealers are only getting 2-3 per month, so they're not offering very deep discounts. You have to stay sharp if you want a good deal.

I've got an X3 28i. It's sole purpose for me was to pay off negative equity I threw into the lease...I grew to actually like the car after the last 2 1/2 years...Decent enough little EDD - but not a passion car for me anyways...My wife loves it though!

Ready to get into something fun again...

Yeah, very happy with the deal...flew from Phoenix to San Diego and drove back to make it happen.
