Look at this design inside out then look at XM...maybe it's just me, but this looks far better than XM

Looks really good! Performance numbers aren’t bad at the price point either.

bmw only has a dct left for fwd based cars... this shares the mini platform which also uses dct in fwd config

Harmon/Kardon is standard, no mention of Bowers & Wilkins. The Harmon/Kardon was already available on the X1 as an option.

It’s rare these days to find Bimmerpost mostly liking the styling of a modern BMW. As for the specs, it’s not an M car and price reflects it. Rather, it’s an attractive entry level premium SUV, functional, fast enough to be fun, with classic BMW styling. Most importantly, priced well for what you get.
To me, it looks leagues better than any new BMW, including the M variants. It’s proportional, understated yet sporty and looks great from about every angle; quiet a feat these days.

It's really annoying from an enthusiast standpoint. I agree that this looks pretty good. Almost like the current M2 styling was actually based on just shortening the vertical on all the features of this, but it actually works much better on this. Seems the tail is wagging the dog.

This is really nice. First new design I’ve liked from just the pictures in a while. I’ll be checking this out for sure.
EDIT - just noticed that the muffler is painted black too in these pics. What a true improvement.

I think it would be a lot easier if people just said what they meant which is: "I don't feel as special or superior now", because the car you bought and parked in your garage is still exactly the same as it was when you bought it, the introduction of features to a car you don't have has literally zero affect on anything but ego. It's a bit like eating a sandwich next to a person who doesn't and then when someone gives them one suddenly saying your not hungry anymore just because they got one too.

The E84 also didn't weigh 1000 lbs. less than this new X1. This new X1 is 3790 lbs. You're saying that the E84 weighs the same as a Honda Civic? lol 3790 lbs and a 5.2 0-60 is pretty darn good for a small crossover. Actually, I think the U11 35i is lighter than the E84 35i by about 100 lbs. |

Pretty much identical spec to the iX1 minus the tailpipes of course.
5.4-second zero to 100km/h acceleration time vs 5.6 for the electric. Both have the same suspension. aka adaptive but not adaptive. Makes you really wonder what the value proposition is here? I guess if you don't like electric. |

I am an enthusiast and I would like a fast X1 that sits high from the ground: said no one so far.
Pointless upgrade for soccer moms who can’t drive X3 M40i. An M lite car with 4 banger coz B58 is an overkill. This will make it into the 2 series and possibly 3 series going forward.

People pay a premium for differentiated performance and differentiated styling. If the hallmark M styling cues can be found on virtually every BMW then M buyers who already paid that premium are getting shafted. |

Sorry, I didn't mean you specifically and wasn't trying to throw shade. I was just speaking generally because the second I opened the thread and saw those exhaust tips I knew the dilution talk was gonna overshadow what is generally a pretty cool looking SUV(CUV?).
