Actually everything in FM4 is coming back to FM5 in January. On top of that, the micro transactions are there for kids that want cars now. Mostly spoiled rich kids or the boys from 21-31 years of age that just want to throw $9 at a game to get a car pack. With VIP everything is pretty much given/earned. Earning them is speeded up with VIP which most of us have been for years anyway.

Still 10 steps above any Gran Turismo game out today or next month.

I know. I bought lots of DLC for FM4 (I'm between 21 and 31 haha, and I did want the Launch DLC/VIP/Porsche/May/July/August/September). But those were $5 packs (or $15 for Porsche) since I bought them on sale. In FM4, I used DLC for extra storefront space, mostly.

I don't really want FM5 right now. It doesn't seem quite finished, honesty. Horizon's quite relaxing to play, just taking a car and meandering around. I've logged >400 hours into FM4, with only 15% of career done (damn rivals) and I'm only on pink wristband in FH (played PG games a ton for the lottery, which I used in free roam)

But Forza 5 was rushed and we get a 1/4 of the game at launch. Unacceptable IMO but honestly it's not that bad. I am a forza fan and only bought this console due to that game. Well maybe golf too when it comes out. lol

I already saw 10+ more tracks coming, 200 more cars, drag racing, auction house, and gifting. Something it needs now but we will have to wait.

I'm waiting until the X1 price drops down a bit. Right now, 500 is too much.

Not a fan of having to pay for DLC for cars (and tracks) that I already paid for in Forza 4. Based on the Forza forums, you can tell the game was rushed. There are a lot more bugs being found than normal.

Also, wtf is up with not being able to play with any of the cars in free play mode? My friend and I play split screen a lot, and it sucks we won't be able to choose from all the cars the game provides.

I understand they made it harder to obtain cars and modify them, but to not be able to access them in free play mode (or online) kinda sucks.

Its not a bad game at all, just underwhelems IMO. I have played it on 4 different occasions, and aside from better graphics, you get less cars and tracks.

I'm gonna wait a year, normally Forza released a special edition version that has all the DLC and stuff (they did that for Forza 3 I believe).

It costs more and takes longer to make games than it used too. Even from fm4 to 5. New system, new hardware etc.

Why wait a year just to pay 60 plus dlc then? At best you save 30 on used game discount. You really don't think you'll get $30 worth of entertainment in a year? That's a night at the movies or one dinner with wife.

5 may be lacking some features, but the car list is fine. I don't need to have the option to drive a 89 civic crx or 91 Plymouth laser. All the cars people actually want to play are there.

And even if the track list is lacking, it is still more fun to play than fm4. Driving against drivatars actually gives you some variety instead of all 7 other cars always driving the exact same line. The new controller feels infinitely better, but I didn't get the wheel yet.

The future of console gaming is no longer $60 for a one stop shop. It costs 100 mil to make a good game. Blu rays cost 25 for 2 hrs of entertainment. Getting a 40+ hour game for 60 is all the value. Either games will start costing $100, or dlc will continue to expand.

My bet is on dlc.

You can play with some of the cars in free play mode. I noticed some you cannot play or use which is weird. All of those cars are available when you purchase from the dealer in the game.

I did think that was odd too.

Just an update. I was wrong. You can play with any car in the game in free play mode. There is a work around.
