My Baaaarrr....
My roommate and I built this in the past two nights...just need to face the bottom part with plywood and and make the shelves. Structurally it'll be done with the exception of being secured to the wall and floor....
All I need to do now is order the mosaic tile....

Throw in some 'budweiser' or 'miller' neon lights ad and a pool table and you're set....also the next time you're out, see if you can nick some of those bar ashtrays for full effect. Btw I have the exact same poster in my home office/playroom at home (the BF Goodrich Skyline one)

Nice, poldim! Now all you need are kegs with taps (and even the appropriate tap handles for the right beers), fridges, liquor shelves, ice chest, and better (dimmer) lighting.

Hope the bartender doesn't get hit with any darts.

That's awesome! Oh man I wish I would have thought of building a bar in our apartment when I was in college. That would have been so cool!
Oh well, like others have said, make sure you leave room on the bottom for kegs. Kegs are by far the most practical solutions for major parties! You'll also have to set up shelves (or at least a little table) behind the bar for the hard stuff. I remember drinking this really cheap vodka in college...like $8.00 for a gallon. It burned as it went down but sure packed a punch! You'll need vodka, captain morgan, gin, jim beam. And don't forget the ladies probably would appreciate frozen drinks like fruit-banana or strawberry daiquiris, so make sure you've got a blender on hand, too! |

Not only do you have to have kegs but you gotta have keg coolers too! Those will take up tons of space!

Thanks for the compliments fellas.
Here goes: Left most side (narrow narrow) will have ice maker To the right of that (wider section), keggerator To the right of that, motor and everything to support keg/keggerator Long section will house shelving for various bar accessories. Longer wall portion will have a glass shelf bottom lit with liqour on top. Wall will be painted, new lighting, and other glass shelves added. Top will be mosaic tile down the middle, with black tile on either side (mosaic is 12", tiles are 4.25") Front will be plywood until we think of a better and inexpensive alternative. I want to do something with sheet of steel... Darts are being moved to other side of the apartment. Bar entrance is limited to about 16 inches wide. Its to keep fat chicks out There will be lighting from under the overhand of the bar and possibly along the bottom. Pole is actually in the works, but will probably not get added until next semester I lover dimmer switches, so everything will probably be on one if I can afford it. I am in a frat, but its a drinking frat...aka engineering frat... Currently parties consist of two kegs in garbage cans with ice. It'll be nice to not have to deal with any other that.... When its done, I'll be happy to host anything here, but it is 3 hours from DC. So long as you throw down for the booze.... Off to bed now...

God damn, me too! I'd love to go back to school. Not to learn anything, just for the partying aspect, I think. |
