![]() Retro Classic Stuttgart, Germany First off let me apologize. Back in March, I traveled to Essen for the Techno Classic, thanks to the nice folks at BMW Classic. BMW Classic put on a very nice event... but I was told they were also at another event at the Stuttgart Bosch Messe(some 500 kms and five hours away!). As soon as I found out about the show in Stuttgart... I just knew I had to make the drive down South. It was going to be a long weekend for me! Nothing like two ten hour drives over two days!! lol Well... I shot the show in Stuttgart and then kind of forgot about it. In the back of my mind I knew I just had to put a photo thread together for you guys. The cars on display at the Retro Classic were quite amazing!! Especially some of the privateers showing classic BMW cars for sale at the Messe. So please except my apologies and sit back and enjoy my photos of the show. One other thing... I kind of raced thru the show... so the quality of my photos isn't the best. So please forgive that. I did get to meet my hero... Walter Röhrl. What a man. I also got to meet Magnus Walker... who I shall say is the polar opposite of Walter. I could not believe on how my people were trying to get Walter Röhrl's autograph. It was quite a show. On the other hand... Magnus was in Germany that week promoting his new book. His crowds were a mere fraction of the crowd Rohrl commanded. Again I want to thank the good folks at BMW Classic for giving me the heads up and a little push to make the long drive to see these super classics in Stuttgart! 2018 marks the 40th Anniversary of the BMW M1... and not only did BMW bring a bunch of M1's but so did a lot of other vendors. I really lost count of how many M1's were there... but man were there a lot of them. The most I have seen in one place. Also some of the cars for sale in and around BMW Classic were sooo clean and desirable. I was really drooling over some of the older classic BMW's. And as always... when there is no price on the car... you just know its $$$$. I really fell in love with a few of those oldies. The show was awesome! I think you will find it too. Enjoy! ![]() Dackel

And then there was this.... This company takes an e88(vert) or e82(coupe) 135i, and turns it into a work of art!! 2002 style Art. I believe they said the body conversion costs 70K euros plus the donor car. ![]()

Not many people know that VW took over Trabant(made by Sachsen) in it's final few years of production. VW ditched the three cylinder two stroke motor and threw in their four stroke Polo engine(1.0 liter, four cylinder)... The Trabant was affectionately k own as a Trabi in the East(Ost) Germany. ![]()

![]() Jk. That was awesome. Thanks for sharing. Although it is a bit depressing to see some of these bad ass vehicles in comparison to some of the crap on the market today. |
