I liked it, felt it was a return to the good old days in many ways. But they're getting pretty old. As much as I enjoy them I think I'd really enjoy seeing them introduce some younger blood. (Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can tap into recent Top Gear episodes?)
As for the tent -- season 1 was in all different locations, hence the portable studio. But they couldn't do that for season 2 because of Clarkson's health so they set it up permanently in his back yard. I'm fine with that. |

I've only seen season 1 I think. I get kind of bored when there isn't enough car content. However i'm surprised people have issues with the tent. To me the tent just seemed to be the equivalent of the studio in the original show. They go show crazy shit they did out and about and cut back to the studio/tent for their comments and studio type segments.

So I was sitting at McCarran airport yesterday afternoon with a flight delay so watched S3 E1. I have to say I enjoyed it much more than the stuff from seasons 1 & 2.

I'm in Canada where the price is sort of in between home and the US. I miss a lot from home but not the price of decent cars.

Watched the Colombia special both parts today... it was semi entertaining, i'd say a definitve step down from episode 1. It could have been easily 1 episode.

Honestly wasn't too big a fan. Overall it was just sort of boring. Plus, having grown up in metro Detroit and thought their portrayal of the city itself was outdated. Urban farming, for example, never became a thing. It's been moreso Dan Gilbert [and subsequently Quicken's] infusion of money into the area that's improved downtown so vastly. And tuned cars? Come on. You've gotta use the best versions from each automaker out of the factory. Tuned versions are never a good representations of the actual car.
The three of them are really starting to show their age. Sad as even the final seasons of Top Gear were very exciting. Clarkson just had to punch that dude and ruin a great thing...now we have two mediocre car shows instead of one that was so good we couldn't even miss an episode. |
