F20 1 Series test mule video

Once upon a time the BMW 1 Series had its unique selling points: rear wheel drive and (in the top model) the lovely I6 engine. But times are changing. Below is the upcoming F20 1 Series which lacks these unique selling points Quo vadis BMW?

Opinions? The End of the glorious BMW Hot Hatch Era?

Please post if you have informations about this specific model!

Looks like a Peugeot 3008. Probably drives like one as well. That's not a bad thing given that the Peugeot is a fine FWD euro-hatch, but what's special about the BMW now?

Ok. But here an actual rolling video...
Looks not really BMW like in motion. Just nothing special anymore...

Garage List
I'm wondering how is this marketed? Who is going to see that and think "Oooh, that's exactly what I'm looking for?
Surely not the "Fast and Furious" crowd. If so, where's the fart can and ridiculous spoiler?
Surely not the soccer mom crowd. Too small. Not enough room for kids and groceries.
Maybe the "I'm 16 and my uber-rich daddy bought my first car" crowd.
Or maybe the "I wanna rally-race" crowd? That seems pretty close.

Not downing it, just trying to understand the concept.

So now you can have famous BMW reliability with Civic driving dynamics? Sounds like a winning combination to me! What is the weight distribution on this thing?
