Anyone have stomach ulcers?
I've been in the hospital since Monday. Yes, that means no E90 since Monday until yesterday when I was rejoined with my loved one.
Apparently I got two ulcers oposing each other in pretty bad condition. Anyone else ever had the pleasure? This is the results of the edo performed: (not for those with weak stomachs) http://www.poldim.com/ouch.jpg Some extra info: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100004304.html

went to the specialist had to have a scope down my stomach wasnt an ulcer but pretty damn close, the lining was worn down he said it could be genetic or stress, but i know it was from busch light, casa jack tequila, and guiness (combined) for about 3x weeks straight |

Ouch poldim, my friend had stomach ulcers. I think she stresses out too much. Work definitely was the cause. Hope you're better, or.. get better soon.

The cause is my case is pretty much genetic. My dad had 2/3rds of his stomach cut out because of ulcers. My grandfather had one too.
The treatment is to take Proton Pump Inhibitor medication and eat very bland creamy food for about a month. Needless to say, this BBQ-less beginning of summer is going to suck.

Hey sorry to hear, Poldim. I hope you get well soon. Stomach (or intestinal [Peptic]) ulsers are usually caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. You had an endoscopy done (I couldn't get the pics to load, though) but did they do a blood test? Are h. pylori antibodies present? Or is there another cause, since you mentioned the pathology may be genetic?
This shouldn't be too big of a deal as once the bacterium is killed off (or possibly an other cause), the lining should start to heal again. It's going to be a while, and not being able to eat anything spicy during summer sure sucks! I hope you feel better soon! |

You look to be a doctor or someone with GERD. They did the endoscopy and found two ulcers opposing each other. I'll try to attach a picture. The surgeon that performed the endoscopy prescrimed Nexium twice a day because of the bad state that the ulcers are in. I've read about Helicobacter pylori on several websites, but my doctor didn't mention it directly. While I was in the hospital for several days, they took several blood tests. Initially I remember them saying that my white cell count was up a bit, but then it lowered back to normal. I need to call him and see if there is any pain medicine that he could prescribe to help ease the pain and allow me to fall asleep faster.

tylenol is gonna be it... perhaps low dose codiene...
most pain meds over the counter are bad for ur stomach. You can always ask ur doc about triple thearapy for H pylori infection. But id be surprised if they didnt test you for that.... some GI doctors will still treat u if ur symptomatic and Hpylori tests are negative ~fk |
