The teams are also talking about reducing the cost cap from the agreed $175 million down to almost as low as $100 million. Hopefully they are able to come to an agreement that will help them all survive. Having a grid of fewer than 20 cars would be sad

But still I don't understand why the spending cap for engine manufacturers is the same as clients.
If four teams disappear then maybe they'll move to 3 car teams.

I think they have already found a few promising solutions in terms of vaccines. The issue is the extensive testing that the vaccines have to go through to make sure they are safe for the general public. As much as we'd like to rush a vaccine to market in these times, we have to make sure they are safe.

The teams are actually schedule to have a conversation about allowing the engine manufacturers to have a different cost cap. Ferrari is a big proponent of this idea.

But given that the engine manufacturers are mostly the successful teams (well, they're in the top half of the grid), I'm not sure if allowing them to have a higher cost cap would help the smaller teams out.

Indeed . A vaccine has to work effective and without side effects .
Regarding this process . It's very time consuming . I heard about +/- 2 years .
And that's too long for us , seen the global virus situation .

I agree. We are about to surpass over 2 million infected and only about 23% of those 2 million have been recovered

It seems like the death rate is slowly creeping up as well. Just a few weeks ago it was around 15%, now its around 21%...
