I've heard they've been offering people pennies compared to when those places first opened up. Would be interest to see how that goes though

I just shared my experience in another thread on this topic. Sold a vehicle to them a couple weeks ago for not much less than I bought it for brand new. Granted, I got a really good deal on it when I bought it, but their listing price is actually more than I paid for it initially

I spent the day installing new smoke and CO detectors all over our house and detached garage, all linked back to our remotely-monitored alarm panel. It was my last step in dumping the Wink home automation system, as they are about to crater into financial oblivion any day now. Cost me almost $300 for the detectors, but in retrospect I should have just used the alarm system detectors all along.....

I got new CO detectors a few weeks ago. They're still packaged. I've been lazy. OTOH, since the furnaces aren't running, there is no CO source in the house, so it's not critical. (Unless I do something really stupid like leaving the car running in the garage.)

We really need to take a trip to Champaign to do some food shopping in the better supermarkets there. It just seems such a waste to drive up there and not be able to eat at our usual Indian restaurant. I supposed we could do take-out, but with an hour ride home, it's just not as good.

I had a few on the alarm system already, but back-filled with Kidde detectors linked to my Wink hub to send me an alert if there were problems in un-covered locations like our detached garage. The price on wireless Honeywell alarm system smoke detectors has fallen enough where they are comparable to the other "smart" detector options on the market, so it was a no-brainer to do it right this time.

Can't eat it there in a parking lot? Pack a folding table and chairs in your trunk, and make it a formal affair. My DW has made the half-hour trip to our favorite Sri Lankan restaurant for take-out a few times so far during lockdown, and I concur that it doesn't travel well. The owner *really* appreciates the business, though.....

Put in drip irrigation for the sweet corn and melons. Planted some summer squash, cucumbers and jalapeños. Gonna mow the lawn today and maybe go for a drive.

Getting ready to drive to AZ soon for a hair cut

Wife somehow talked me into going to IKEA... 2.5 hours away.

So Saturday in its entirety was IKEA. And because those bastards rake in cash for you to assemble, as was Sunday.
