Note to Phil Masi - CEO of BMWFS - how they are reacting to this crisis is rather profound and should be talked about IMHO.
————————— Hello Phil, Just a quick note to say, sincerely, thank you for the values and resultant culture you are part of which has generated a profoundly human presence during this crisis. I have seen no public statement in reference to this pandemic with an attempt to up-level brand image (which, given what is out there, is good). But more importantly, I have only seen a message of care and genuine advocacy for customers who may be in need of kindness and respect during this difficult time. I once worked for BMWFS and there is a part of me which swells with pride having been associated with this organization and what I learned there. Now part of a business being led by a similar set of standards and leadership - I know how rare and important this is. Currently holding three loans with BMWFS finding my entire family in a BMW. Can say confidently after this I have no doubt that will remain consistent. This response to current climate is important, you and team are doing something very important, and thank you again. Well and safe wishes to all in the BMW family. Best regards |

I tried the Postpone link through the my account at bmwfs website on Monday, but nothing had changed as of today(Thursday). I tried to call today, but was unable to get a hold of anyone. The automated system guided me through the postpone payment process, but again nothing changed on my account. I went to the payment details back on the website. There was a different link for request postponement. After going through the process, I actually got a confirmation number. Within an hour, my account was updated to reflect the payment adjustment with a $0 balance for April and my loan extended for one month. It took a little work, persistence, and patience but it finally worked for me.

Talked to the finance guy at the dealership today as I was setting up my loan through my credit union.
He couldn't match my rate/term, but recommended that we wait until Monday to finalize everything as he thought BMW might be coming out with new terms. So, I'll wait until Monday. R. |

I called BMWFS yesterday because my lease was ending on 4/20 and hey extended me to 5/20 for free. It was an easy process, they didn't hassle me or ask any questions. I called the international number and got someone on the line in about 3 min.

Got my payments deferred. Yeah some of us are still working, but investments are down and who knows how the market will do. Take care of yourself. If you have to sell your house in 4 months and find out it lost $50k in value due to the market, you'll wish you'd taken whatever options you had available.
I also have a friend that has a lease return coming up soon, and he mentioned that some people were being offered up to $4500 off their buyout price. I didn't get that offer since my lease isnt done until August. |
