born and raised in San Francisco. I plan on visiting home sometime during December when it's nice and cool.

Has any of you been to the provinces recently? I've heard a lot of the culture has been westernized to have a diversity of food, etc. Can't wait to see what it's like again...last time I visited was 6 years ago.

Actually a lot of people from San Francisco are toishan or from similar areas. Quite a few members on here actually:

i was born and raise in that city til i was 15, it's been a while since i went back, but the last time i went back, it was extremely hot; but it's nice to see the advancement made all over the city over the years...
