Had the opportunity to use the CR spotless unit today. Holy shit, I wish I would have looked into a system like this years ago. To say this was amazing is an understatement. I now feel like I can fully understand the feeling that people in other parts of the country have when they said they just wash the car and blow dry it and then walk away. While I still dried the car using my Griots towels, this deionizer made it possible to dry the car the car and not have a care in the world that part of it may be sitting in tue sun for too long and would need to be touched up. The fact that I could dry off the entire car then come around with my air compressor and blow dry all the cracks and crevices and then blow dry the wheels and not have a single water slot is amazing. I easily shaved an hour off of my wash and dry time by not having to go back and detail the wheels or parts of the car again due to water slots.
Sorry for rambling but this thing was seriously life changing when it comes to the world of car washing here in Arizona. Thank you to all who gave their advice and recommendations!

So get this…I was out washing the car this afternoon and everything was going great. The deionizer was working perfectly, reading zero, car wash was coming along nicely, however the water pressure seemed a little lower than usual and there also seemed to be a little bit of air in the water but I didn't think much of it overall. I finished washing the car and turned the water off at the hose bib. I then proceeded to dry off the car and about 30 minutes later I hear a loud BOOM. Scared the shit out of me and I started looking all over to see what the hell just happened. Look over at the deionizer and the one canister had exploded with resin going all over the place!
Now a few things could be a contributing factor here: - This was only the second time having it hooked up to a hose bib that was coming off of our new carbon filter and water softener system. Not sure if that could be part of the problem or; - I had also done the RV Mod conversion kit as the OEM setup was having me go through resin like crazy. Really sucks given that I've put a lot of money not only into the system itself, a set of replacement cartridges that I had used, and then the conversion kit and a bag of resin as well. Close to $800 later and I have a useless system.

Just cut your losses, at this point, and go with this. Cheaper, and they have a spot in Gilbert. https://puretecwater.com/deionized-w...-tank-exchange Wait, where are the cartridges? There supposed to be cartridges.

No cartridges as the conversion kit ditches them.

Holy smokes that's wild! Maybe a silly question.. are you on a well or city water main? Likely some crazy spike in pressure?

Perhaps the resin is somehow reactive to the salt in the softened water? 🤷🏻 🤔

Probably no way to ever know what the exact cause of this was but it's disappointing nonetheless. Checking out another option now where a company delivers deionizer tanks to the house and then swaps them out as needed. Small deposit required (refundable when done with the program) and a small monthly rental fee. Seems way more cost effective from what I've seen.
