Hello, I have a 2015 X5 xDrive35i with 3.0 i6. It has almost 88k miles. Last year I had valve cover gasket replaced due to oil consumption and it worked well. Now I'm noticing in between oil changes the oil consumption has reduced but it's almost 1qt low between oil changes. This isn't too alarming especially for the engine type but my question is, will this get worse/should I be worried? Or just keep an eye on it?

Are you sure it was only the valve cover leaking? What about the filter housing? Or even the Oil Pan Plug. How may miles to get to 1qt low? 3000? 5000? 10,000? Wait till the computer says so?

Thanks for your reply! I'd have to get it inspected but currently have no (visible) leaks. when I had the gasket replaced, it didn't use any oil, in between oil changes (I was adding about 3qts before replacement in between) so I'm 3/4 of a qt down in the last about 5000 miles which is why I'm not too concerned but don't want it to get worse
