I've been browsing this site for a few years, but it seems that in the past few months there seem to be a ton of brand new users with less than 10 posts asking random questions that have been answered a million times and even show up at the top of Google's search results.

Are these real people new to the platform? Or are they fake accounts trying to build posts so they can drop links, or even just to drive traffic to this site?

I believe they're bots. I've been on this site for nearly 10 years and it's worse now than it has ever been. It's usually late night or early morning where you'll find a rack of new threads with a bunch of random characters and some mixed in with the most basic of questions. There has also been a rise in people getting scammed in the Classifieds. Perhaps the mods and admins should worry less about former F8x members making fun of the G8x and focus on making BP great again.

I guess I'm on here way too much because I'm always seeing these weird thread names in batches, and then 2 hours later they're still there? I mean, I'm in no hurry to be an admin, but hell, even I would remove the thread and the user for free in those obvious cases, just to keep the forum clean.
