if you don't have heated seats, have the seats ever heated up for no reason when it's cold outside? like 20 degrees or lower?
I've noticed this since the weather started getting cold a couple of weeks ago. My X1 has the Alcantara seating surface. At first, I just thought that it was just getting warm due to an hour or two of driving. However, in the last couple of days with temps around 20 degrees in the morning, I have noticed the seats warming up right after I start to drive off. It's always the lower back section. The seat bottoms never get warm. since my X1 did not come with heated seats and there was no way to subscribe to them here in the US, this became a mystery to me. I tried the passenger side and it didn't have this "issue" at all. I have made appointment with my BMW dealer to have them check it out. IIRC, someone mentioned that the seat heating elements were already built into every X1(U11), even if the owner didn't order the heated seats. I sincerely hope that it's the heating element powering up randomly due to some bug... and not something more serious like the motor or pumps for the active seats massaging mechanism inside my front seats. |
