This happens with both my wife's iPhone 13Pro and my iPhone 14Pro Max:

My ringer volume will be set to max before entering the vehicle. After the trip and out of the X1 my ringer will be turned down to almost nil.

This occurs every time I drive the X1. I can't find any settings that is causing this.

I have never noticed this type of behavior. (been using both of my iPhones with my X1 for 7 months) My two iPhones are very different: iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both have the most current iOS 17 updates.

I just went to my garage to test this to make sure. No, they didn't do what you described.

Unfortunately, other than performing the test above, I don't have any guesses on why your iPhones are doing that. Although... whenever my iPhones and BMW's system act funny, I just remove the phones by deleting them and pair them to the car again, which usually solved most issues. Good luck!

I have never experienced this. Are you listening to music via CarPlay and adjusting the volume while driving?

First things I’d do is run any available software updates on your phone. Then try to delete the phone and RE-pair it.

Thank you All. We never use CarPlay. It's only the ringer that changes volume....both phones are using the latest OS 17.1.2, and this has done it since buying the X1 in August.


Can't see deleting and re-pairing when it happens to both phones. Must be an iPhone setting that I'm missing.

Mine does something similar. It always turns the ringer up to max. Can’t work out how to change it !

I never use CarPlay, but I listed to audiobooks and podcasts. I only ever change the volume using the volume controls in the car. I haven’t been able to work out how to change this phone behaviour
