19 Insurance on 2017 M240i
I'm in the fortunate position to own a 2017 M240i at 19 as a uni student. I saved a few pennies from buying the car at a Japanese auction then importing it here to the UK. The insurance however is killer, I cant seem to get anything under 4.5k.
Held my License: ~1.5 years (no NCD as I'm not a policy holder) Named Drivers: Parents both retired (1 with 20+ NCD, other with 7 NCD) Occupation: Living at home undergrad uni student, work in a bakery as my second occupation (which is true believe it or not) Car is parked on the driveway, 3 cars total at my household, no children under 16, house is owned. Social use, 4k miles per year. No claims, no convictions, no medical conditions. I haven't called any companies and from what I've seen, it is possible sometimes to lower the quote through some phone call wisdom. Is anyone been/in a similar situation or have any useful tips for lowering the insurance? If nothing can be done, I may be better off selling the car and taking a small profit. Although, I'd much prefer to drive it hence why I'm here. |

That's a lot of car for a 19 year old, that's why insurance is so high.
