I only see these 2 all weather options for the 225/55R18/XL spec for my 2023 X1 (with base 18" wheels).
Looking only for an all weather option (3 peak snowflake rated).
Does anyone have experience with either of these?
Mainly want to know about ride quality (noise) and occasional snow performance (will go over the passes in WA state for skiing may be 3-5 times an year).
I remember using Michelin CrossClimate 2 for my previous SUV, and at that time Nokian also had some good reviews, but I do not see either of them available for the X1 spec.

this one looked interesting when I was looking on Tire Rack's website. It has matches the X1 original tire load ratings. 3 peak snowflake rating, very good customer reviews. Manufactured in Hungary.

Wow, that's so odd. There are tons of options for 19" on Tire Rack, including the Cross Climates

the OP specified the 3 mountain peak snowflake rating, so that narrowed down the list quite a bit.

the stock 18" tires supplied by BMW have 102 load rating. Cross Climates for this size is only 98.(which 220+ pounds less per tire) I always stay at the same or higher load rating as the stock tires. so that narrowed the list down even further.

I would gladly sacrifice the load rating to have the Cross Climate 2s. That tire is utterly phenomenal for an all season. Go check out that UK guy tyrereviews YT videos and the website with all the comparisons.

oh, those are absolutely amazing tires... I've had them on my other cars.(RWD and AWD)

but I do sometimes load my X1 with too much stuff on Costco hauls.... and the nearest Costco is 4 hours driving time in the middle of nowhere, so can't really chance it on tires with lower load rating.

I'm pretty sure if you're not also carrying 3 people along with you you aren't remotely close to the limits. And probably even with 3 other people.

I'm sure they'll release the 3 long before I need to replace the stock tires on my X1. After about 9 months, I've only put on 3800 miles as of last week. I estimate 5000 miles per year at most, so.....
