is the airbag warning hard printed on the visors? can they be removed?

I've looked at some videos where people removed the air bag warning labels using alcohol, steam and even heat guns... but those appear to be stickers affixed to the visors.

However, I stared at the airbag warning on my X1's visors as closely as I could. They appeared to be hard printed on the visor?

can they be removed? if not, I guess the only alternative is to wrap them in alcantara(which match my seats) or other suitable fabrics?

They look the same as previous models to me. You can see a clear border around the edge of the printed portion, still looks like the same old style they’ve been using for years.

Did you remove them in your old cars? If so, how, and have you tried that here?

on my other cars(non-BMW), I used hairdryers to heat them up and peeled away slowly. Sometimes followed up by cleaning with alcohol or gentle cleaners, depending on the color and material of the visors.

I just took a razor and tried a tiny corner on the X1 visor. Did not appear possible to "scrape" it off. It looked like painted on.

Remove, I don't know. But if you don’t like it, it should be possible to replace the entire visor by the UK version where the warning is on the other side, right ? Will require some research to find the correct part number and order it, but should be feasable...

on the US X1 xDrive28i, the airbag warning labels are on both left and right visors..... probably too costly to replace both, so I'm just going to pretend that I don't see them. (the same way that I only read the Playboy magazine for the articles... didn't even notice that there were pictures of women in that magazine)

Or...https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1612085

Or...why bother asking if you're not going to remove them?

I'm not trying to remove the stickers. Just letting you know the link you shared wasn't working (at least for me).

Kind of reviving a dead thread, but I managed to do this by using the clear liquid goof off solvent. Soaking on the removed visor with a paper towel for like five minute intervals then using a firm brush. The rubbing alcohol method did nothing as the "sticker" is pretty much painted on. You need to be really careful with goof off and clean it off when done, plus it smells really strong!

Long time enthusiast here, I’ve removed them on 5 other vehicles with minimal work. My wife has a new G01. I attempted to remove hers and it was unable to be removed with goo gone and other removers. I ended up having to replace the visor as it looked like crap. Tread knowingly.
