F1 viewing options

Are there any options out there other than ESPN or subscribing to F1TV that any US viewers are using? This morning was the final straw for me, I simply can't take Crofty anymore. F1TV is $84 for the season, and well worth it to me if I never have to hear that moronic, peter-puffing idiot anymore. Just wondering if there are any other good options out there before I sign up.

F1TV is great, been a subscriber for a number of years now. But whatever you do, don't use their catalogue of old races and go back to the V10 era. You'll cry at the sound of those beautiful machines.

F1TV is great. You can choose to watch F1TV’s broadcast or Sky Sports’ with Crofty and Brundle.

I prefer the Sky Sports broadcast. Why does Crofty bother you so much?

Also to add, in-car cam with full radio makes F1TV totally worth it.

LOL, I've already been down that rabbit hole this summer. Someone has been posting races from the early 2000s on youtube, I've been rewatching them all off-season. I love it and it makes me sad all at the same time.

I find him to be an absolute tool. I can't take the lap one turn one yelling anymore, it's ridiculous; I find myself turning the volume down on my TV to zero for the first three laps. He never, ever, EVER shuts up, not even for five seconds so I can hear the cars. His voice is hype-man levels of grating, I feel like I'm listening to Billy Mays call an F1 race. He makes idiotic comments and jokes that aren't relevant or funny, and if you listen to the responses he gets you can tell I'm not the only one that's thinking that. Maybe I got spoiled listening to Varsha/Matchett/Hobbs back in the day but Crofty is literally ruining the experience for me.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll sign up for the F1TV app as it sounds like the best solution.

It's funny you mention the lap one turn one yelling. Anytime my dad was in the room while watching races with my mom (she's the fellow F1 fan of the family), he always says something like "why is that annoying asshole screaming so much".

I talked to a buddy of mine yesterday, he told me his wife walked in the room as the race was starting and said almost exactly the same thing.

i bet even if they replaced Crofty, Sky would still make his replacement scream during opening laps

Maybe, but if they replace Crofty who's going to tell me crucial statistics such as it's been 184 days since it was 184 days ago?

To those with F1TV…is it just me or do we sometimes not get the Sky pre-race broadcast with Brundle’s grid walk?

UK based but can you access the following CH4 stream ?

Highlights available on https://www.channel4.com/programmes/formula-1 / https://www.channel4.com/4viewers/blog/motor-racing-4

I also have Sky Sports but hardly watch these days, the entire package has gone stale

The Channel 4 team are a positive alternative, especially Alex Jacques the commentator

F1TV seems to be most versatile and best priced imo. Love that you can actually change to driver helmet cams and etc
