Do you know anything about the Chevy Small Block V8? The engine itself is pretty compact. I guarantee you the 6.2 V8 in the C63 AMG is bigger then the LS3. The M3's 4.0 liter V8 weighs 445 lb vs 458 lb to the "big" 7.0 liter LS7 V8. Not that heavy or big is it?

And who cars how the power is made? As long as the experience is exciting. The vehicle accelerates fast, corners, handles, etc. I can make fun of BMW of using forced induction for making the 300 HP. Saying that they can't produce the N54's specs without the use of it. All in all, if you tease a Corvette driver at a race for having a big, heavy, POS OHV V8 to get the power it won't matter at all. You'll get in your technology filled engine powered car and most likely get your ass handed to you as the 'Vette leaves you in the dust.
