Scammers bypassing the PM restrictions?

I just got PM'd by a new account with 0 posts... Have bots/scammers found a way to bypass the post/age restrictions on PMs?

Plus, there are lots of posts by new members zero reputation points, posting stuff for sale all over the place in the wrong forums. We’re all getting scammed bad the past couple of weeks. Oh and all rhe stupid questions that people (AI) are posting that are flat out stupid. If people are that dumb they shouldn’t own a car.

Agreed,I'll see a brand new member account & after reading their post my Spidey Senses get triggered instantly if it's the least bit suspect. Pretty easy to spot a scammer/spammer trying to advertise or sell something, etc a mile away

Then again,I was an Admin for years so maybe I'm just jaded

I've gotten a few of these. I never post a WTB thread anymore, as that's what trips most of my spam.

Don't worry, they don't. Those are spammers nesting posts to inject a link to promote later. And yes, they are flat out stupid: not only pointlessly(?) explicit and persistent, but losing their point as well. Some never used their garbage posts (Couldn't find them? Like this one, check that user's other post.) and this pioneer added a hidden text (in white, select the whole text to see), but there's no link attached. It looks legit.

Smash that little exclamation point triangle when you see gibberish SEO placeholder posts!

Just please don't smash the triangle on @M_Six posts like someone apparently did about an hour ago, because he is a legitimate forum member.....
