To be honest, I never noticed he speaker light color so it's a feature I can live without especially since my Android Auto not seems to be working after the update.

The in-car app or your phone connecting to it? My phone would not connect to AA after the update. I had to delete the pairing info in my phone's bluetooth menu and the car's devices. After that, I opened the car's AA app and connected that way. Phone connected and works fine 99% of the time.

Yeah absolutely, I’m 38 and I remember watching this when I was around 14 and thought it was hilarious, Marisa Tomei in it was a looker as well.

It’s actually recorded on my sky TV box to watch in the next week or so, the old ones are the best ones!

I had the option until the update a few days ago.
Keeping the option disabled, the logo lit up with the color of the LED, while activating it lit up white.
Now it is always lit up white.

Earlier this week I installed the new 07/2024.40 to my 2024 X1 28i (in USA) with premium package, BMW Drive Recorder, Smartphone Integration, Driving Assistant Plus, Digital Standard & ID9 but without the DIGITAL PREMIUM. Afterwards like others mentioned I saw for some crazy reason BMW no longer enables the HK speakers to light up with the same ambient lighting as the rest of the vehicle. No big deal but why in the world would BMW take away a feature like this?? Seams stupid.
Has anyone found a way to reactivate it, or is it gone forever unless BMW wants to give it to us again?

I don't think they really decided to "remove" the feature. Mostly likely lazing coding by their software engineers.

Deliberate removal would be things like the "M" door sills, glove box light or the door pins that BMW removed for 2024 and later X1.

Sometimes I do wish for iDrive9, but that's impossible on my old 2023 X1, due to different hardware. However, I would be not be pleased to buy a X1 with no glove box light and M door sills. (so I'm glad to have a 2023)

You might be right but if BMW provides the toggle again so that the ambient light color can be selected for the speakers. It might be a fine by way of a small OTA update we may never no was fixed.

If BMW wants to get back to HIGHER STANDARDS, to retain or get new customers, they must use a technique referred to as “PDCA”, meaning PLAN DO CHECK ACT before sending out any type of update.

oh, no, I hope I'm not to blame for this. I have been saying for a very long time that the white Harmon Kardon LED light was just fine. Ambient lighting color on that little logo is pointless. I played with it a couple of times when the car was new... then left it in the default white for that last year and half.

Haha, 🤣 whether the speakers are white or the ambient color, no big deal. The true issue is that BMW took away a function/feature that some liked when updating to the 07/2024 software. WHY?? The updated BMW Guide now states WHITE COLOR or off as the only options. There is NO longer an ability to have them match the other ambient lighting. WHY??

It cost them NOTHING to have kept it the way it was intended when we picked up our vehicles. That’s the way it was published in the manual that came with my vehicle in late December 2023.

Perhaps they plan to begin to charge for every little adjustment in the future, who knows!! They might someday charge us each time we want to open a window or door. Or can you imagine they might charge us to open up the gas cap lid when we need to add fuel. ⛽️ I’m being fatishous or am I?
