Question Front seat storage pouches in the 2025 version?

So I picked up my new car a few days ago. Behind the driver and passenger front seats are usually "seat pouches" which can hold things with some netting. Mine doesnt have those which is unfortunate for storage reasons. Is it something they removed in the newest model - or is mine just missing them?

Thanks for the info. Too bad but I'll manage. I do wish there was some more space in the middle front. My Honda had more in that department. Think I might try to get something to lock down the items so they don't roll around under the center rest.

It’s just one more cost cutting feature BMW enacted for 2025 model production. Just like they did with the 2024 glove box light which was standard in 2023 models.

Guess if your into BMW, at times you will have to learn to live with less when it comes to certain things corporate does not see a valued by it’s customers. 😞

I’m sure you are right. Or to a much smaller extent than they have been doing in the 3rd generation x1 & 2’s in 2024 & 25. At some point the difference between a BMW “Premium” & non-premium vehicles will be blurred at least on some models.

Agree.

They do not want to be getting into a race to the bottom - especially against the cheaper (Chinese) newcomers.
They will lose.

I don't expect to buy a BMW and find they have tried to save a few Ł/€/$ here and there just to cut their costs.
If they want to cut costs they need to look at' their' overheads, not 'our' cars imo.

If they aren't going to offer a 'premium' product, I may as well save a lot of money and buy something cheaper.

Agreed, no auto maker around the world will be able to compete with China’s price point if they arrive in their country. Chinese government allowed other auto makers from around the world to manufacture their vehicles for years in China. But not until they 1st turned over years worth of research & intellectual properties to the Chinese government. China took the best from the best concepts & developed their own “Government” sponsored company/brands with the intent to sell at below market prices (price dumping). Been there before, over & over again. CHINA WINS.

So customers of vehicle brands that had been made in China intended to sell to Chinese market place are now up against their own BEST PRACTICES of newly introduced Chinese made vehicles selling at much better price points. They are losing share BIG TIME. CHINA WINS.

Eventually those same companies will find sales slow to such a degree that it is no longer economical to manufacturer in China. They will pull out leaving much of their manufacturing facility in China. CHINA WINS.

Those same manufacturers will need to rethink their decision long ago to “Sleep with the devil 😈”, so to speak, when they went after the (pot of Gold) the billions of people in the Chinese’s market & created plants in China. That pot of Gold they all were seeking was NEVER the long term plan of the Chinese government.
CHINA WINS.

When someone pointed out the lack a glove light, I was shocked. And the other issue is all 4 USB ports are power only, no data.

You should take a look at the inside of the new X3 and some of the plastics and things and get back to us on cost cutting. It make the X1 positively plush in places.

BMW is dropping quality but not the cost. If they did as Tesla is and simplifying things whilst lowering the cost I'd get it, but for BMW it's just to increase the profit margin.

I’ve got 2 up front in my 2024 but I too was shocked when learning production for 2025 excluded them entirely & without advance notice. I wonder if the new 2025 X3’s also had them removed?

I never liked those seat back pockets. Those just serve the purpose of letting people leave useless items in the car

That's a more aggressive cost cutting measure. Most manufacturers just eliminate the seat back pocket on ONE side....

I didn't care about the owners manual, the glovebox light but the door sills and the mesh pocket delete was really a lot to swallow.

Sorry to say but with all these penny pinching practices & cheaper materials being used, BMW is turning itself into the “Plymouth” or “AMC” brand. (You might recall the names from the past) If they continue on this path I see it’s only a matter of ⏳time that value/practicably/ & premium quantity are things associated with BMW’s history & not future. Holding its own against other brands can not be accomplished by just a nice driving experience.
😞

I just watched a video reviewing a 2025 x1 M35i and I can clearly see the netting type pockets on the back of the front seats.

Maybe I am missing exactly what pouches are being discussed.

Around the 2 minute mark...

All depends what month the review car was built. It might be before the deletion started.

BMW has become known for running changes like removing features mid-year as well as yearly. It’s been reported by newer 2025 owners that the front seat rear storage mesh are no longer included nor are data ports in the vehicle.

Review cars are also usually full spec with all options. It also depends on the model level. As i said in the other thread, no nets on the back of the front seats in mine which was delivered two months ago but its not m spec but did have the upgraded sport seats.

I have a 2025 X1, no seat pockets on back of front seats. But there is pretty generous storage built into the rear doors so I personally don’t think it’s an issue.
