ceramic coating help
so i put a coating of Feynlab on my car a couple of weeks ago and am wanting to put their topcoat on this coming weekend. my current plan is to wash, use nanoskin clay mitt and then prep for coating. but i dont want to use a prep like isopropyl alcohol which would damage or remove the previous coat, suggestions for panel prep that wont affect 1st coating?

If the prep before ceramic was good, I kind of doubt you'd need a clay mitt yet, unless you live and drive in a really filthy environment. It can happen, but I wouldn't say it's normal.
IPA will not damage or remove the previous coat. Not a ceramic coating anyhow. It would be fine to use. |

If the ceramic coating is only a week old there’s no need to decontaminate. Just wash with a neutral ph soap and apply the top coat.

It’s so easy to follow the directions of others and do to much to your car … I like what was said just wash it if it looks good and performs less is always better .

Plus one to all the recommendations above. Also if the product is performing well, just hold off on doing the top coat until it’s time for maintenance. Then an iron remover, very light clay if you have stubborn droppings, and alcohol prep should be enough for the application in 1 year.
