Exclamation

James Gunn presents:

SUPERMAN

Now we shall see if DC made a mistake in removing Zack Snyder...

The trailer looks better than I expected.

Ok- I get there has to be *some* suspension of disbelief when you watch one of theses, but fell me running.....

As a retired military officer and a current airline pilot (27 years in each job), I just.... I can't.... don't even know where to start.

There are SO MANY hysterically wrong things in this wast of my life-- especially in the last 30 or minutes or so.

I was just about screaming at the tv, much to the amusement of my wife and the Monochromatic Tribe.

Ugh.

I wouldn't even know where to start.

What a bummer that must be for you with all of your experience.

I imagine that doctors and nurses feel the same way about each and every hospital show.

I'm planning to watch Carry-on soon. I'm really glad I'm not encumbered by knowing too much about the subject matter.

It's just that.... little errors are fine.

But massive, lazy errors?

Those sort of piss me off.

(As in using shots from two completely different airplanes that aren't remotely the same size or putting in features on aircraft that literally don't exist.)

That's just lazy. If you want to do "X", then use an airplane where you an go "Oh, ok-- that's a bit of a reach, but I'll go with it".

Using a short-haul aircraft (hey-- they're cheaper to digitally repaint), but then showing features that could only *possibly* be in a wide-body just comes across to me as "the audience is stupid, so why bother".

Just too much hand-waving. Yes, it's escapist fantasy, but at least stay sort of within the stadium.

I guess it's like watching a neurosurgeon do surgery with a spoon and a paperclip, or a family-practice doctor doing a heart-valve replacement as well as a cardio-thoracic surgeon (yes, they're both doctors, but is either condition *really* believable?)

Or, (since this *is* a M2 forum..... the script writer needs the M2 to have four doors and a V-8. Nope. Wrong. Not even close-- go use a different car if that's your requirement.

Probably not explaining things properly.

On the plus side-- Jason Bateman cast as the Bad Guy was kind of fun to watch.

It always irks me that the standard "plane taking off or landing" shot has 4 engines then inside the plane it is a narrow body.

Sorry, maybe my tone was off. I was actually agreeing with you and sympathizing. Sometimes a person can have too much knowledge about something to enjoy a movie. In your case, it's airplanes. You can see lazy mistakes most viewers would never notice.

Here's another movie where Jason Bateman is cast as a villain. Not meaning to give anything away but you don't find this out til later in the movie.

This looks interesting. He was actually just in The Carry On - Netflix. Also a villain. Busy dude.

Yes, I posted this because of discussion of Carry On. The Gift is a good movie. I recommend it. Don't want to reveal anything. I already revealed too much.

It looks OK in a few scenes but the rest looks just AWFUL.

I didn't see much in the trailer that would make me want to put down any money to see it. I'll wait for Netflix or whoever to stream it. Why does DC miss the mark so often?

This looks extremely interesting. And I appreciate them not revealing the antagonist or creature or whatever it is... Big fan of Jordan.

That's what I was thinking, too bad for him, it was a decent and enjoyable flick imo even though there were obviously some plotholes.

You didn't like when at the 1:37:10 mark the plane threw itself in reverse gear and backed itself up from the gate? I thought that was clever.

I pointed this out to my adult daughter who was watching the movie with my wife and I, and she asked, "Was that the first unbelievable scene you noticed?".

Finished watching Smile 2 the other day. Sorry to be late to the party. Does have some good bits. Don’t like the music video scenes. Lots of jump scare tactics. First made me think of Lady Gaga, then it’s more like Britney having a meltdown. Then it’s like a smile music video, but without the music. And a little excorcist thrown in for good measure. Was good but the first one was better imo.
