New to my 2025 X2 and BMW in general. I've noticed that when viewing the current tire pressures in iDrive 9 the "recommended" listed tire pressure varies. In all cars until now I'm used to the "sticker in the door" pressure being the correct one, and only at cold temperatures first thing in the morning before driving. In my case it shows 32 psi but the iDrive 9 screen sometimes says 31, 32, or 33 recommended and it changes from time to time. A search here on Bimmerpost seems to imply that somehow iDrive is compensating for current tire temperatures and providing a more accurate recommendation... is my understanding correct? Should I be filling to the recommendation ON THE SCREEN and not necessarily just an arbitrary 32 psi first thing in the morning? Thanks... BTW: I have the 245/45 R19 102H XL Primacy AllSeason tires.

Even more perplexing I have 2 which were spec’d identical except for paint color, picked up on the same day, and I get vastly different recommendations from one to the next… even both sitting cold for quite a while

Yes tire pressures are confusing for some reason. I was running
36 in front and 35 in the rear on 19 inch tires. The door jam says
33 psi front and rear. Here is a link to a BMW dealership

mines perfectly square and matched all around so my OCD won't let me - but personally I think 33 would be a little better too

I dont have my wife's app right now but last time I checked hers were even higher with like 42 front and 39 rear - bizarre

I believe BMW call it an 'electronic tyre pressure label'.

My understanding is that when the tyres are cold, the recommended pressures and actual pressures should match.

When the tyres warm up, the recommended pressures will increase due to the tyre temperature change, which should be relative to an increase in the actual tyre pressures at that same time, if that makes sense.

I guess this will be linked to the TPMS.

If I remember correctly, the recommended pressures change where there is an additional load in the vehicle, such as passengers, etc.
