New Toys

Some new toys arrived for me from Adorama today.

Heres the list...

-Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash

-Tamrac MX5383 M.A.S. Flash Accessory Pocket (I'll be returning this not knowing the 430EX II came with a protective case)

-Sto-Fen OMEW Omni-Bounce Diffuser

-Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens (test shots below)

-Tiffen 52mm UV Protection Filter

-Canon ES-62 Lens Hood for EF 50mm f/1.8 II

I decided to test out the new lens and heres what I got.

Good color

Nice DOF

Foreground DOF is pretty good too

Excellent Gaussian effect

This is the same shot taken with my Canon 28-135mm 3.5/5 IS.. there is a big difference in the softness of the background.

I'm pretty excited to put this lens though its paces in a few weeks when I have another live show to go shoot at... this time I'll be bringing my own equipment to use.

Try not to test the 1.4 or 1.2L. Trust me. *grins*

50mm 1.2L Great Lens, as is the 135 2.0L and the 85 1.2L but my Fav is still the 300mm 2.8L

I just got a 50mm 1.8 today too,

so excited to use it. spectrumphoto stop teasing all of us!

I'm looking to get a speedlite also, planning to get the OC-E3 Off Camera Shoe Cord 3 also!

Haha, after someone posted about a new 50mm lens here, it looks like everyone is getting one now, including me! I'm ordering mine right now! :P

had some fun with the lens tonight... since i just sold my guitar i took some pics of it. didn't use the 50mm on all of them but heres a select few...
