is it just me? xp issue
I just reformatted my computer to XP SP2 like always... I do this on a yearly basic with the same disc and same code... works all the time
So as I got everything installed and moved everything from my other drive... I notice that when I click on my other hard drives it does not go right into it, it moves my folder to a different location and opens the content to the other hard drive... I restore all the views and etc and still does this... If i go to certain web sites, I click on a box where I can type in a login, IE shuts down on me... Got firefox does same thing... I right click my computer and go to properties and it comes up but when I hover over it, it goes away... Reformated comp again thinking its a bad install... still same issue... Changed services from deafualt to some tweaks still same thing... any suggestions? I didn't do any update... Reformatted again and then did all the updates to sp3 and everything, still same issue... I did a msconfig and it comes up and closes right away... anyone thinks its a OS bug? any of you think its because I have my other hard drives attached to the one I'm reformatting thats why its acting werid? I mean this shouldn't affect it but im up for any suggestions anyone has same issue or similiar issues? thanks |

When you first finished OS install, was it working fine? I mean before you "moved everything from my other drive". Scan the other drive for virus or try new XP install disk.

Try a different keyboard. It sounds as though you're only having troubles on input. Perhaps you've one or more stuck keys? If you don't have another keyboard, bang the one you have against a hard surface a few times, but not too hard. |

BTW, I know my previous post sounds like a joke. It's not. If you've got one or more stuck modifier keys (CTRL, SHIFT, ALT) etc, it can potentially modify input from both the mouse and the keyboard causing applications to do strange things.
