Need HELP/Advice
Took my daughter's car (a 1999 328i) into the dealer with a front headlight out for them to replace. I know I probably could of done this myself but did not want the hassle. Anyway, she/I mentioned to check to see if everything "looks ok." Well, they called and said I need to replace the transmission. Ok, the car is old and has 120,000 miles on it, but does this make any since? The only problem she has mentioned was that when she drove the car on the highway (which is not very often) that it did not want to get up to speed and she pulled over, turned off the car, restarted and things seemed to be ok. I am taking it to another shop for a 2nd opinion, but what do you all think about this?

I would trade in for something newer and better; especially for my own daughter. You don't want her car broke down in the middle of no where.
