for those who have never flown before, this is every pilot's dream. i would kill to be in may's place. absolutely spectacular. i'd pay a considerable amount of money to take a trip like that. as soon as you start flying, all you want to do is reach higher and higher. without taking a rocket, that's about as high as you can go. envy!

I always understood the U2 was no joy to fly. There is supposed to be a very narrow flightspeed. To fast and the wings wont take it - to slow and it will fall out of the sky.

well that all depends if you want to fly at the edge of space or not. i would say sticking to a 10kt window would be good enough for me as long as i got to cruise at 70,000ft.
