better than right on the back of the trunk.. if I get a chance ill take a picture of my friends 5er with it.
it works to get you out of tickets if ur near a hospital... but its obviously not going to work if ur family is in the car on ur way to disneyland. The cops here in LA area will not ask you to prove anything about the emergency you are going too.... ive been with my friend and the cops just waves at him to becareful and slow down. ~fk |

Do you actually need it? How often are you responding to emergencies?
If you are responding to something of very high priority, I recommend calling the PD and requesting an escort..

![]() ![]() Of course not. I can just pay the ticket. Think about your question. If a physician were driving fast because of an emergency, should he instead wait for his police escort to arrive, then drive fast?! What type of question is that? ![]() |

I guess it was early this morning and it didn't make sense what I was asking. I was more interested and curious how often you are responding to emergencies than anything else. I was curious if you wanted to display this sticker for emergencies or to get out of tickets, because most of the thread was talking about getting out of the tickets. How far of a distance is your response route? The reason I'm really curious about this is because I was a firefighter for a long time, am trained in emegency vehicle operations, and have responded to hundreds of calls lights and sirens to fire calls, ems calls, both in firematic equipment as well as my own personal vehicle with dash lights. To be honest, you could have the brightest lights and loudest sirens in the world, and people still do stupid crap all the time. I can't begin to tell you how many fatalities there are each year from people doing dumb sh!t around emergency vehicles. Now that's with lights and sirens. That being said, I don't understand why having a sticker changes anything, it seems if anything you need some lights and noise to get people's attention that something is going on and you need to get by. Which laws (it lists some codes) does it allow you to bend by having this sticker. Around here (in Boston) everyone drives like an emergency and breaks probably the same laws daily that you are allowed to bend by having the sticker. So on the road you would seem like another a$$hat driver, when in fact you were responding to an emergency. How would the average driver know that you were responding to an emergency? I don't know, more curious about this than anything. It could be you just want this sticker to get out of tickets and I am looking way too far into this. I guess it depends on what type of doctor you are, what type of emergencies you are responding to. I guess I'll just leave it as saying, use your best judgement, having a sticker is not going to make others on the road aware of your situation at all, and be safe... ![]()

I don't think this sticker will make much of a difference for true real life emergencies. There have been only two instances in which I felt compelled to "rush" for an emergency. Once was with my father who was having a M.I., and the other was to deliver a baby.
All of us encounter emergencies from time-to-time, and it makes more sense to call 9-1-1, and let people like you who are better equipped and connected handle the situation. There are several satellite offices I drive to, and the physician extenders are delegated by me to provide services I am ultimately responsible for. Occasionally, I may have to put out some "small fires," and a silly sticker like this may prevent me from getting stopped for having a flashy car with light window tint on the driver's side. This was a big incovenience because yellowg555 was following me to longtran's house for a social event. Not to imply I should be treated with privelege because of my occupation, but I could do without the undeserved harrassment I was last pulled over by the CHP, and the officer just wanted to know the brand of wheels I had since he had recently purchased an IS350. I wasn't speeding or overtly violating any laws other than the window tint. After driving a Ford Explorer for 10 years and switching to this car, I find myself getting all sorts of unwanted attention from the CHP. |

Gotcha. Out of curiosity, does California have MD plates?
I can see what you are trying to ahieve.. Donating to the PBA (Police Benevolent Association) can often lead to what you are looking for... ![]()

I guess it was a compliment, but always causes a bit of anxiety when I'm getting pulled over. It's embarrassing, and an inconvenience. This was on a busy major freeway, and he had to speed from a dead stop (from behind me) to overtake me (I was going about 60-65 mph), presumably to see if I had front plates (which I had). It would have been better had he seen me at the donut shop or at a gas station, not the highway. |

Its only good for speeding a little faster than the normal.
I wouldnt imagine anyone willing to risk their own saftey to fly through a Red light or drive on the wrong side of the street to get around traffic. ~fk |

![]() Seriously though, the rules concerning this vehicle code are fairly stringent. It does not allow for speeding on the freeway, driving wrecklessly, driving through stoplights or stop signs without stopping, weaving in and out of traffic, etc. |

I'm in cardiology where almost everything is an emergency. Thankfully, I decided AGAINST interventional (allows me to avoid quite a few of those emergencies).

I actually thought about getting into aesthetics when a partnership deal with another peds went sour at the last minute and I found myself without income for a few months. I decided to start my own peds practice instead and so far so good. Unless you are in Atlanta, an aesthetic practice wouldn't do so great in Georgia. CA is another story.
