I had the original 60 GB and replaced with new slim one just because I like the fact that new one support Bravia sync.

Man- fan is extremely loud in the new one. My PS3 are in my entertainment center and the fan noise is seriously bothering me. I'm thinking about putting my original 60 back.

Funny you say that, i got the PS3 and a Blu Ray player soon after. I now admit that it was irrational, the PS3 is just as good as the standalone one.

I was going to sell my used original DISCONTINUED 60gig PS3 and get the slim one.. but my co-worker told me that ONLY the original 60gig PS3 has the best backward compatibility (97%?) vs 60%, 70% (other models)... he told me that I can easily sell the original 60gig PS3 for $250+ (I watched some ebay bids and some went over $300), basically I can get the slim one for free lol, but the fat shinny one looks a lot better so I am keeping it.

Love my PS3 and I do watch Blu-Rays on it. I had to replace the laser a couple months back after it died, which was quite depressing, but I did it myself and it runs like a champ now!
