What is the best moving company?
I am moving from the east coast to the west. Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with a good moving company.
I am moving a range of items. These include fragile items such as a TV, to heavy items such as a safe, and a big computer desk. Just wondering who I should go with for this move? Hopefully it's not extremely expensive since I will be moving a BMW across the country already. |

It's really expensive to move all your shit cross country bud. You may be better off donating/trying to sell most of your stuff, and buying new. The costs may be similar. =(

I rank movers just ahead of carnies and behind used car salesmen. Most are substance abusers of some sort.

I had two good experiences with MayFlower. However, companies like this depend who you're working with locally, so I can't say how your experience might be. Call as many places as possible though, the differences in prices is incredible.
Biggest piece of advice: follow your instinct. If the place sounds extremely dodgy and not legit, don't go with it. Go with the place that sounds right, the prices are reasonable, the people know what they're talking about, and they can work with you. I wouldn't go with the smallest company out there either.. Especially going cross country. One more thing: Especially over that distance, make sure you are insuring what you have to comfortably replace everything you have. Should anything happen, knock on wood, you should be able to replace everything, and not at a compromised quality either.. Insurance doesn't cost that much more and might seem like a place to skimp and save some money, but I play it safe.. Good luck.
