point taken. Have you been to www.pandora.com ? They let you select a bunch of artists that you like and then make recommendations based on what you give thumbs up or down to.

It's helped me find some new stuff I hadn't heard before that I really like. Plus they really de-construct the songs and base the recommendations off of fairly complex algorithms. Today it recommended a band to me based on like 5 things with names I didn't even understand, like minor key tonality.

Just an idea that might help you find more of what you're looking for.

Zoolander, I finally have it. Your idea of "shred" is just a band/guitarist that has technical (sometimes aggressive) riffs that are pleasing to the ears
