I say good riddance. Maybe you iPhone users can go clock other networks and leave the ATT bandwidth for me

I have a BB tour(vzw) for personal use and a BB bold(att) for work. I carry both with me daily. ATT is constantly dropping service/calls and is almost always a couple bars lower then my vzw phone. I also always get a echo when talking to other people with att phones but not from other networks or landlines. To say the least I haven't been too thrilled with the att service.
The browsing while talking I could care less about. Not really a feature I could use a ton anyways as I'm on the road most of my day. If verizon wanted the feature I'm sure they could add it on. Seem to me it's just a programming issue that they choose not to utilize.

I'm not so sure that's true. One of the biggest complaints with the iphone is that it doesn't work very well as a phone. Sad but true, according to the various reviews I've read/watched, and I'm guessing the complaint isn't with the phone itself, but probably with AT&T's network. I very well could be wrong though.

Here in Iowa at&t has pretty good coverage. I don't ever have dropped calls and I get good speeds for internet and stuff. I would probably stick with at&t either way personally.
After reaing the WSJ article it seems they have sources they think are reliable enough to report on... so I may start believing it this time!

I wouldn't say I've had many problems with AT&T's service. The few dropped calls I do experience were always, in my mind, just chalked up to the nature of a GSM network vs CDMA. |

I definitely get dropped calls with ATT... for sure. But it's not happening all the time and it's a quick call back when it happens. As mentioned, I'm often on the telephone and using my data for GPS directions or looking up somethign online, so being able to use both together is a big deal for me. Overall ATT service has been decent.

Just in: ATT upgrading network to try and prevent "exodus to Verizon". Looks like they'll put an extra $2 Billion in 2010 towards network upgrades over what they did in 2009.

Att is better than Verizon in some areas. I used to be a die hard verizon customer till I couldn't get signals in certain rural areas in Washington where I frequent. So I changed to ATT. Their prices are a bit better than VZ.

actually the delay was in royalties. Apple gets about $600 for every iphone from ATT. Verizon cant get anywhere near that, plus the limits they want in the app store content.

iPhone is a GSM phone. AT&T is GSM and Verizon is a CDMA.
Unless Apple makes a CDMA version of iPhone (which I highly doubt), there will be no iPhone for Verizon. Blake is right. |
