It doesn’t look nearly as big when broken-up for EU standard licence plates (which are mandatory)

BMW’s approach to electrification has been exciting, but I sincerely hope they learn from Mercedes’ mistake with the AMG C63 S E Performance. As they continue to develop the M EV lineup, they must preserve what has made their M cars legendary—the inline-6s and V8s. These engines aren’t just powerplants; they’re the heartbeat of the driving experience, delivering unmatched soundtracks, tactile feedback, and soul that resonate with enthusiasts.
Mercedes went all-in on their hybrid 4-cylinder setup with impressive specs, but it’s been met with lukewarm enthusiasm because it lacks that emotional connection. A car isn’t just about how fast it goes; it’s about how it makes you feel behind the wheel. BMW has always understood this balance, and their S58 I6 and S63 V8 engines are masterclasses in combining modern engineering with old-school excitement. If BMW is serious about entering the electric M car era while staying true to its roots, they should aim for innovation without sacrificing identity. Give us electrification, but alongside the raw power, sound, and personality that have defined M cars for decades. Enthusiasts don’t just want a car they want an experience. Let’s hope BMW listens and keeps their engines roaring in harmony with the future. |

I haven't heard a BMW sound good since the E platforms. Turbo cars sound like shit to me.
They did a good job with the waste gate dump sound and stuff but the overrun/burbles is pure trash. The S63 sounds ok though because there is displacement behind it.

The S54 factory exhaust was widly panned as sounding "tinny".

And yes, I would love a manual option. I may never get rid of my G80 because of that reason. Or I will have to find an older fun vehicle with a manual just to have around.

There were numerous renderings of looks that would have been much better than what they did and would have been great designs for the M3.

Power dome the hood and it's basically perfect (except for the terrible mirrors which still look like they belong on a truck). Such an easy layup and they blew it. Oh well.

Thanks. I have a hard time picking a favorite. Obviously I am partial to the E36, but in terms of styling I think it’s a three-way tie between the E30, E36, and E46 M3, followed by the E9X M3, then F8X and finally G8X. The E30, E36, and E46 all have design cues that I love and none of them have a bad angle. They’re just timeless designs.

E36 M3 is beautiful, it’s an absolute pleasure to still see them on the road from time to time. Loved my Hellrot one back in the late 90s. I always wanted an Avus colored version with a white interior, but never happened.

As far as the rest of the renders here - they all look like 330i's with tacky body kits. Money doesn't by taste. |

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, regardless of how wrong it is, but I actually own both cars and am pretty confident in my assessment. You, Jason Cammisa, and "the majority of people" can have the E36 M3 - more power to you.
