literally was just using it this morning. the green LEDs still come on. However, I have the old iDrive 8 on my '23 X1. Feel so left out that you guys with iDrive9 are getting all the fun new features. Why can't I have the green LEDs disabled as well? :/

I updated last week and have noticed two main changes, lane change assistance now seems to be a thing for me and, more importantly, when using android auto navigation the heads up display has nice big icons for turns, much better than the tiny ones I could barely see 🤣

I'd still love to see the map view at junctions in the HUD with android auto like you see with the BMW mav. The traffic light detection also seems to have improved slightly but still very hit and miss.

Overall I'm happy with the update, responsiveness has improved slightly and nothing broken.

BMW Maps and Live Vehicle have updated today and I have Terrain View in the Live Vehicle screen and Road Ahead has become selectable in HUD.

I don’t know why, but live terrain appeared only yesterday, 2 weeks after the update.

Mine appeared after the Live Vehicle app had updated.

It is the bottom selection (newly added). It doesn’t work around town though.

Today on October 13, which is 9 days after installing 07/2024.40 to ID9, for 1st time the Connect Drive Store within ID9; under “Digital Premium” it is listing many new features that are available with the latest software update. I would have thought /hoped they would have been there when I updated system on 10/4.

Addition modes
Welcome light animation
Terrain view
BMW map extended
Intelligent personal assistant extended
Just to name a few.

Is this timeframe typical we need to wait until we are able to use the advertised features in the subscription based DIGITAL PREMIUM?

I still don't have the Terrain or Road Ahead views, but the Silent Mode suddenly appeared recently, weeks after the update.

From what I have seen so far you get a view of upcoming road in the HUD, only when outside towns. The view highlights any sharp bends and suggests a maximum safe speed.

So I don’t know when it happened and if it’s related to this release but I’ve noticed that the settings on the video recorder had all been reset.

So nothing for theft accident nothing, so the very feature that you expect to set once and never to retouch has been zeroed. One to check as if some are relying on this in an accident or theft you might be in for a surprise.

I’m on Long Island in NY & noticed the 07/2024.40 became available in MyBMW app October 2nd, or a day or 2 prior. I have the ID9 system. You have to manually download to phone 1st through the app & then upload to vehicle while in drive mode. Then follow the steps to INSTALL & remember the vehicle has to be off during installation with all windows, sunroof & doors closed.

Once installed some setting might have changed or turned off (my personal assistant was effected & English needed to be reinstalled. NOTE: Not all features that were added to Digital Premium show up immediately. Mine took about 2weeks.

Not everyone gets the update at the same time. I'm not sure how BMW decides who gets it when, but this has been the case since the X1 was released. Depending on the update, there has been a few where my car never got them, presumably because my car didn't have anything relevant to the update.

This maybe be dependant on which version you’re running, ID8 or 9.

I’m on ID9 and my car was delivered with digital premium trial enabled.

The lighting animation was present to which I set it to ‘vivace’, the trial then expired and the lighting animations disappeared, I’ve since paid the £10 cost per month because I want live traffic updates without route guidance activated and the lighting animation reappeared as part of the digital premium package.

On ID9 lighting animation is definitely part of the digital premium package.

This package should be free IMO, we are being fleeced for things that are usually standard on a car (my Audi displayed live traffic on virtual cockpit).

I’m not particularly fussed for the lighting animation but what I do want is real time traffic updates via the BMW infotainment system.

I’m aware you can use Apple Maps to get this info but I dont like the maps display, I also find the navigation not as good at the BMW one.
