When something happens, something that is out of the ordinairy, Max is the least likely to make mistakes and most likely to profit from that situation.
He is just so much in control. And RB as a team too.
Max is just better in situations like coping with cold tyres at a SC restart, or if it starts to rain, when to come in and for what tyre etc etc.
Pure racecraft. Pure skill.

Lando is only quick when everything goes to plan, the car is good and nothing strange happens.
Even today when he got that stop&go penalty and was flying to make up time, there were moments that he got off track.

For sure things like this MAX remembers, RUS shouldn't have done that.

I honestly think the money is just a number at this point. The real motivation is gonna come from within and the desire to win races. I look at the salary numbers and honestly think Charlie is the one who’s delivering the biggest $ to results ratio there….love him but not sure he’s delivering the results that justify that salary yet.

At the same time Hamilton wouldn’t be more motivated with more money - he’s doubting his abilities now, he’s clearly in a difficult headspace with a really strong drive in Vegas but this was a disaster.

Alonso clearly doesn’t get stuck in that same state of mind but also hasn’t had the success that Hamilton has had.

Undoubtedly this is the Max era now.

Fully agreed. Happy for him. I guess that he will consider this Qatar race and the Chinese GP earlier this year (where he got very emotional after parking his car near the start/finish stands after the race) as top memories of his F1 career.

According to Ted Kravitz Max yesterday said something to Russel after he was reported to the FIA regarding the slow lap debacle, in the like of "F#ck you and your FIA buddies!"...

George Russel is of course director of the Grand Prix Drivers Association, and has therefore in that sense a place on the board/in the vote of the FIA

Depends on how you look at it.
Yuki has 30 points. If he makes $1 million, that's just over $33k per point as salary costs.

Charlie makes supposedly $34 million. with currently 341 points, thats $100k per point

I think Yuki is hard to beat and is very much underpaid, he should at least make 3 times as much
Hulkenburg is also vastly underpaid.
And Lando is currently only getting $57k per point, so quite a bargain, but for that you loose the WDC despite giving him the fastest car for most part of the year.
Cheapest is probably Piastri with 6million and 291 points currently, only 20k per point. But again...fastest car, no WDC, and even WCC is still not sure.


of course Max' costs is currently $128k per point, but for that you get the WDC, even in a slower car. So you can't really put a price on that!

What would make a difference for him: 10 second penalty (that would make him drop from P3 to P5) as well as any penalty point.

But I can't say it was boring...the whole race just....suddenly exploded in so many ways...
