Jealousy.
Both items have such superior image qualities when I get them I'll be as happy as signing on the line at the BMW dealership getting some other car. At least I know I'll be able to get the camera before another car.

The two of them together make a very nice pair for walk around use (aside from the weight) I'd recomend though as soon as you get it, get a side strap for it to take the weight off your neck, it is needed. And the auto-focus isn't the end of the world depending what you were shooting with before/currently. You just need to learn how to get it's attention. If i'm focusing on something and it doesn't grab focus right away, i refocus on the side of the object where the object and the background intersect and i can get focus almost instantly. People that sit there and let the focus hunt, they aren't aiming at something that has some contrasting elements. Makes all the difference in the world. this is where the conversation in the other "general photograhy" thread is interesting right now. I will pick a contrasty part on my subject, then recompose slightly, and i will then do a slight manual adjustment if needed. either way, I pick up my 5D before i pick up my 7D about 9 out of 10 times. But it really depends what i'm shooting that day. the 2 lenses i always have attached to my 2 bodies are the 24-70 and the 16-35 (which i'm in love with) |

LOL.
Now I officially hate you for having two of the best zooms. I will pick out the edges and fine tune if needed just like you posted. It works! I'm dying to see what the 5DIII will have vs the MkII. I hope it gets the 1D auto focusing. Then I will have to buy it. I wonder how many pints of blood that will take?

I really hope the 5D3 gets the 1D auto focusing system, and the infra red flash remote built in or even get a built in radio controlled one (that's wishful thinking) I really like the remote flash control on the 7D, so it would be nice to see on the new 5. After that, there really isn't much else it needs other then to update the video stuff, but that's about it. a dream on the other hand, change the metal body to a carbon fiber body and lose some excess weight but when a lens is on, it's pretty well balanced. good point, these cars get looks, and yours with all the work done must get some extra looks. |

That's majorly impressive. Virtually no noise.

that's ever so slightly noisier then the original because i bumped up exposure a tad, left of her face was a little dark... But DxO does pull some noise out too...
But that's the reason why we use the 5D mkIIs i can get higher ISO then that and still print a nice 8x10 wouldn't want to go much larger then that though. |

so high ISO definitely isn't as clean, but you avoid hot spots a lot better with the 5DII |

400 ISO on the T1i still prints really well, and i've printed a few from when i had that body. It's just the modern age of pixel peeping has made us greedy. I forced my buddy with his 60D to take a shot at 1600ISO (which he was mad at me for) then i printed it as a 5x7 and he loved how it turned out. You're never going to see the noise on most of these cameras below 400ISO when printed at a normal photo album size. You might even be able to do a really clean looking 4x6 at 800ISO on the T1i. I never tried to go that high with it. It always scared me. |

What was shutter speed? ISO seems high unless SS was high.
I'd shoot Av (aperture preferred) and dial the ISO to get the SS that I needed. Anyway, nice bokeh and shallow DOF. Dave

it was a 1 shot deal unfortunately she had to get back to school. and thanks, I'm liking how the 135 F2 is handling the bokeh i think it's going to help out a lot on photoshoots with brick walls around and such. |

Dave, have you gone through the videos from Zack's workshop? It's kinda interesting how he slams Av mode a ton. I use Av mode a lot too, but I guess it depends on what you're shooting.

And since watching the Zack stuff, i've toyed around with setting my exposure and just leaving it unless i had to move it because i moved into different lighting, it's definitely worth while. |
