For my X1 2024 I downloaded software to phone via bmw app then uploaded from app to car. But when I go to update page it says that , Software Update Paused! The update will start automatically in short time.

Has anybody get that message before ?

If I reset the idrive9 it works or not do you have any idea?

Yeah my software update is paused also.
I received the update notification and went on holiday for 2 weeks and came back to the paused update. Assume BMW have pulled this update for some bug fixes.

It was paused for all X1s with IDC headunit. It should resume for all ICE X1s soon (if it already hasn't). PHEV and EV X1s are still paused.

I have seen 07/2024.30, 07/2024.40 & and 07/2024.55. What is the difference and who has what?

Can’t comment on the differences but I received 07/2024.40 via download. Some of the features didn’t become available until I updated apps.

With the 7/2024.40, that became available earlier in October, I’m considering trying out the DIGITAL PREMIUM for a month because several functions are only offered if you pay the $9.99 monthly or $99.99 a year. I let mine run out after the free trial period because it had nothing at that time I thought was worth the price.

I'm on ID8 and I continue to have this issue. The setting ("ON") is good for a few trips then mysteriously disables itself. I re-enable it and it's good for another few trips. Small-ish issue but totally annoying.

I have 07/2024.44 which was installed at the workshop.

I hope they release a corrected version soon. Android auto keeps disconnecting whenever I cross a country border.

I’ve emailed BMW to report it but they are playing -ass the panel as to if it’s an issue or what the fix is.

Which we all know will be a `nMW central German issue to resolve. Very poor handling of a safety feature of the car if you ask me.

I’ve got a continuous issue since the upgrade, the language keeps changing to or trying to change to German. The car is clearly demanding to speak its native tongue in its native country. I speak the language but it’s still annoying.

My remote software upgrade is saying to me in the car “upgrade preparation is complete. You will be informed when your car is ready for upgrade” or something like that.

Is that a sign the upgrade is paused per earlier posts?

Probably. I believe the vehicles system will tell you when you can do the final step that comes after PREPARATION.
- INSTALLATION “VEHICLE MUST BE OFF & PARKED WITH ALL DOORS, WINDOWS & SUNROOF CLOSED. Takes about 20 minutes & can’t be driven until completed. Follow instructions carefully

I had this exact problem before as well - in my case, we got the car in Germany (and the MyBMW app has the location set to Germany), so maybe there’s some sort of programming logic happening in the background where the default language is automatically set in relation to German?

The way I got around this was to set the key (or my phone) to automatically sign into my profile (which is set to English) when I get in the car. It seems that when a profile is not initially pre-selected (AKA when you’re not in the car), the language will continue to be in German. This is also the case when you try to log in after getting into the car and the language is already in German (it will continue to be in German after you log in).

P.S. you can set the language selection as a shortcut. Before I figured all this out previously that’s how I’ve been switching languages all the time 😉

ID8 here.

I would wait personally and not upgrade to this firmware level on ID8, thinks like auto handbrake settings getting constantly lost and PHEVs not charging in time slot on ID8 at least are two know issues that are best avoided. Not much else worth it to move up more added bugs.

Mine seems to auto-login fine just switched to German. I have a shortcut setup to get me to the menu item within the voice assistant area but still needs a few more taps to change the language.

Is there a way to set the shortcut to just change the language without the extra taps?
