After: M2, M3, M4, really large F150

Once the M2 is delivered, the transformation will be complete.

As much as we would both like to lift it for funsies, I don't think we'll do anything that extreme yet. I need to get the flagpole mount for my 6'x9' Rebel Flag - I am a strong advocate for states' rights and all. Nothing says "informed strict constitutional constructionist" like the ol' stars and bars.
We had an FX4 for about 8 years. Good truck. Hope they fixed the window regulators by now. Those regulators, all of them, some of them multiple times, were the only issue we ever had with it.

We just added some wheels and mildly larger tires with front end leveler blocks. Those sorted out the raked stance nicely and on the cheap. We put on a magna flow exhaust, got a tuning module for shifts, tire size, fuel mapping, etc... but one of the best mods was aftermarket sway bars. Lets face it, you'll be on pavement 99% of the time and those sway bars really added a lot of confidence to the drivability without affecting the ride.

His name was Rocket, because he was so much faster than her previous full-size Bronco. (Big Blue)... they all have names.

These two pics are from the for sale section. 120k miles. Great truck. Awesome on the road trip as well. Very comfortable and 25mpg highway. And that's with the old 5.4 v8. I'm sure yours will serve you well.

Ok, so after adding the pics, i realized that we also put on stainless step bars, bull bar, new grill, spray in bed liner and roll-n-lock bed cover.

And the aftermarket stereo for the MP3 option. lol old truck is old.

Edit: Just found the For Sale pics of the E92m.

Just imagine how nice the driver's seat would have been if it didn't have to hold all that extra weight for all those years.

She was soupaa clean!
What exhaust on the E92 M?

B&B Triflow.

I'm not sure they actually went to production with it. I bought it used from the guy who gave B&B his car for their R&D. In exchange for using his car, they gave him an exhaust for the cost of raw materials. I bought it from him for $900. He's a member here, but it was so long ago i don't recall who it was.

Fabulous exhaust, i was lucky to pick it up. Looks awesome, fit perfect, sounds great. Deep and on the loud side at low RPM but didn't get exponentially louder through the RPM range. So it wasn't obnoxious at all, but still throaty and deep under 3k rpm. No drone either. First BMW exhaust i've had with no drone.

I wish the TriFlow for the E46 didn't drone. At 80mph, it's brutal. I'm thinking about putting it up for sale. I'm sure it will only get worse with the headers are installed.

That was my least favorite aspect of my E46 B&B rear section.

After 2 E46M3s and 5 different exhaust set ups, (i actually went so far as buying a Flowmaster muffler and a welder to fab my own rear section. It didn't sound any better than others i tried.) i finally settled on:

Rogue rasp pipe
Supersprint X pipe center section
Supersprint Race rear section

Sounded pretty good. Still a little high pitched, but most of the rasp was gone and drone was minimal to nothing except at a certain gear and speed, but it was only about a 3mph range for the drone and thus you didn't hit it much.

Very short video clip of that set up from inside the car.

You can tell that video is pretty old because it was filmed with a potato.

I'm going to see what it sounds like first once the headers are installed. If it's rough, I have an AR20 resonator I can have welded in the stock section 1. If that doesn't cut it, I'll sell the B&B and buy a SCZA. We'll see how it goes.

It was transferred from the camera to the computer by a potato.

Good luck!

Nice.

My dad has one which we use as a general work truck. What caused the purchase?

Just realignment of the fleet. Needed something with room for people. Needed something with room for hauling stuff. Drove the Explorer and my wife was like...

Mrs. JTodd_fl: "This thing is a car. Fuck this. I wanted a truck. The old Explorer was a truck."

Sales Rep: "They worked hard to make it more car-like, because that's what people like."

Mrs. JTodd_fl: "Not me, and I am people. They screwed it up. Take me to a real truck."

Sales rep: "How about this nice (low, two-wheel drive, froufrou looking) truck."

Mrs. JTodd_fl: "Why, does my grandma need a truck."

Me: "There is nice one - FX4, tall, imposing, Lariat, so has leather."

We go back and forth about it's lack of V8, leave and go home because they don't want to negotiate, get the call at 5pm-ish and come back and buy it.

So, once the M2 is in, we will have three M coupes and a gigantic truck... seems legit.

Here's another soundtrack from my car. This time the mic was taped in the trunk vs. usually suction cupped by license plate. sounds way different. i would say its a blend of both.
