Also, just as a note, you can somewhat see the FITCAMX dash cam in the upper right corner. So far it seems to work pretty well.

Did you opt for the parking fuse option? Curious to know how the sensitivity on that would be for a bump while parked.

I did not go with the parking fuse as I didn't want to run any additional wires if I didn't have to. I have the premium package and have the surround cameras that are *supposed* to detect impacts and record the incident, but I don't think anyone has bumped my car yet.

I still have yet to run the wires for the rear camera as well because I don't have the time or motivation to pull the wire through the cable sheath in the hatch lol.

Have you tested the parking mode camera for the bmw? I was reading on another thread that it didn't detect a minor fender bender with another member. I have skepticism around how reliable the drive recorder and security cameras for the car are so i'm looking into getting a thinkware since it has the OBD hookup.

Didn't mean to make that rhyme but it did.

I have a Thinkware camera from my last car I was originally planning on installing into the X1 with the hardwire kit tapped into the fuse box. I will say that the Thinkware stuff is pretty good, but is a bit sensitive and will record “impacts” even with the sensitivity turned down, just when going over freeway joints. Normally not an issue, but I can’t turn off the sounds it makes when detecting an impact.
I’ve never had someone hit my car yet to my knowledge, and never had the desire yet to go test it out. It will trigger if someone reaches into an open window with the car locked though. The downside to the aftermarket cameras is that it only records front and rear. I’m more concerned about side impacts as that’s been more likely for me in my area, stuff like door dings or careless neighbors.

I will also note that the front camera for the drive recorder is placed way too low, recording an impact only allows you to see what’s directly in front, not further ahead like windshield cameras. The augmented navigation uses a camera in the mirror holding, I’m wondering why they didn’t use that camera to record things instead.

I'm not too worried about "theft" in the sense of leaving a car window open and someone stealing something, my biggest concern is that I have extremely poor luck when it comes to street parking, every car I've owned, I've dealt with some sort of small "hit and run" situation where I park on the street over night, and the next morning, someone either side swiped me or has tapped one of the bumpers badly and then drove off.

So having a sensitive park mode for my needs, is not the worst thing in the world.

Do you know if the "app" software is available on an iPad? because I have all of our security stuff set on an ipad, would be nice to have that available all on one platform.

Honestly not sure. Pretty much just use my phone for everything app related. Also, using CarPlay interferes with connecting to the wifi broadcast from the Thinkware camera unit( or any other wifi dash cam), so for that I just have an SD card reader I plug into my phone or computer and download files manually as a habit.
Here’s a photo to stay on topic:

Fitcamx don’t have an iPad app but you can use the Viidure app on iPad. This is the one that fitcamx recommended when they were updating their app.

Picked it up last Tuesday in Vegas! Super happy with it so far. I can confirm the July changes, of which I only care about the missing glove box light. Ride is great! Happy I didn’t choose the M suspension.

May I say that X1 looks even better with a roof box? Really nice SrPalacios
Now you just need to match the roof box emblem 🙈🤓

Went on a nice few-day trip last week, which we did about 900 miles. Once "safely out of break in" (and safely away from other drivers), she even got up to 130mph, which was effortless.

Man I love storm bay, such an easy colour to live with and looks different in the ever changing UK lighting conditions. Sometimes I look at other colours and think they look great on specific days but I don’t see any other colour I would prefer to live with over a long period of time.

The color is incredible. In the months that I was waiting for it to come in, I checked this thread multiple times a day hoping to see more pictures of it because they were always so different, but also very rare. I will echo what everyone has said before me: pictures don't do it justice. Out of direct sunlight it morphs into an equally beautiful, but darker color with no metallic. So in partial sun, with the way the body lines create shadows, it's trippy but awesome to see.

It's been even more of a joy to see the reaction of other people when they see it. During our trip, a full grown woman stopped in the middle of an intersection to yell out that she loved the car. I haven't had this much attention since I daily drove a few Mercedes W123's prior to my last two BMWs.

Been a great experience so far!

Frankly speaking, not as smooth and comfortable as with 18” and 19” (as expected). Fortunately the streets and freeways in the Bay Area are not so bad that the look is not worth paying the price for. Those 20s caught my eye when I saw the first X1 promotional video
